Saints Shine: Athletes Excel Across Sports!Women's hockey qualified for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) tournament via an at-large bid after making the ECAC tournament and playing in the semifinal game against Clarkson. The Scarlet and Brown is matched up against Pennsylvania State in its first game of the tournament scheduled for Thursday in Madison, Wisconsin. If the Saints win, the team will face off against Wisconsin. The Saints women's hockey players were also recognized both nationally and at the conference level. Mae Batherson M'25, Emma-Sofie Nordström '26 and head coach Chris Wells were named finalists for the ECAC Defenseman of the Year, Goaltender of the Year, and Coach of the Year awards, respectively, while junior forward Abby Hustler '26 was named a top-10 finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, as announced by the USA Hockey Foundation. The Patty Kazmaier Award is bestowed annually to the top player in NCAA Division I women's ice hockey. Alli Sibold '24 became the national runner-up in the mile at the NCAA indoor track and field championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia over the weekend. She set a new program record after turning in a time of 4:50.97 to eclipse the personal-best and program record marks she set earlier this season. The win also gave her All-America honors in the mile event. Earlier in the week, Alli took home US Track Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) regional track athlete of the year award, receiving all-region honors for the 3000m, mile and 800m. Nick Lyndaker '26 also received men's USTFCCCA all-region honors in the mile. Lewis Anderson '25 tied a St. Lawrence record for program wins at the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Nationals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania over the weekend. With the win, the junior from Birmingham, U.K. reached 62 for his career, tying him for the program record alongside Moustafa Bayoumy '18. Emma Strack '25 competed for the Saints at the NCAA skiing championships, posting a 16th-place finish in the 7.5k freestyle followed by a posting a top-20 finish in the 20k classic by finishing 19th. |

Saints Fall Sports in Full SwingThe fall sports season is well underway as Saints women's soccer shut out the competition this weekend with a 1-0 win over Colby-Sawyer and a 7-0 win over SUNY Potsdam. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Emma Palumbo '25 and Timmy Boyce '25 each won the Cardinal Classic 5K during the men's and women's cross country meet in Plattsburgh, and Jimmy King '26 claimed the individual title for Saints men's golf while the 'A' team secured a win to open the season. First-year Molly Jespersen secured the 'B' Flight Singles title during the opening weekend for the women's tennis team while Jenny L'Hommedieu 23 scored her first goal of the season to lead the field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Oneonta. Women’s Cross Country Clinches Liberty League Title Four Saints finished in the top 10 to lead the women’s cross country team to the Liberty League conference title on Saturday, while the men’s squad finished fourth overall. Women’s Ice Hockey shut out RPI on Friday (3-0) and Union a day later (4-0) to earn two big ECAC Hockey wins as the Saints kicked off conference action. Football celebrated a 34-10 victory over the University of Rochester on Saturday, while the men’s soccer team defeated Hobart in OT to claim the No. 5 seed in Liberty League playoffs. Volleyball went 2-1 last week with wins over SUNY Potsdam and Keuka but falling to SUNY Cortland on Saturday, while the women’s field hockey team defeated St. John Fisher 3-2 on Saturday. Make a Difference DayOn Saturday, Oct. 23, more than 400 St. Lawrence students, in collaboration with local organizations such as the Canton Chamber of Commerce, St. Mary’s Church, Coakleys, and Seacomm Federal Credit Union, stepped up for the North Country community by volunteering to help area parks, schools, farms, churches, and homes as part of our Make a Difference Day event. Saints Celebrate Milestones, Earn WinsLegends of Appleton/Men’s Hockey Centennial: The Saints men’s hockey program celebrates its 100th Anniversary and the 2025 Legends Weekend on November 14-15. Join us in Canton as we honor the legacy of Saints hockey and induct Tom O'Connor '75 and Ray Shero '84 into the Legends of Appleton. Click here for more information. Men’s Soccer: Junior defender Baker Diaz earned All-Liberty League First Team honors. Seniors Ryan Campbell and Jeremy Ogango made the Second Team, and juniors Nicholas Petrone and Gustav Scheibler were named to the Third Team. The Saints placed sixth and qualified for the Liberty League tournament. Women’s Squash: First-year Eboni Atherley was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week after helping the Saints open their season with a 7-0 sweep over Chatham on the road. Women’s Soccer: Seniors Madison King-Thurber and Meredith Donahue earned All-Liberty League Second Team honors, while junior defender Chloe Bourque made the Third Team. Men’s Swimming and Diving: The Saints defeated Bard 100-40, taking first in every event entered. First-year Logan Doody won three events. Women’s Swimming and Diving: St. Lawrence rolled to a 148-31 win over Bard, sweeping all events at Augsbury Pool. Junior Gracie Ringer earned two first-place finishes. Football: Senior running-back William Murray scored twice as the Saints held off Buffalo State 24-19. Senior Will Lederman passed for 258 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Cole Phelan caught four passes for 113 yards. Senior kicker Clayton Fogler was named Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Week. Women’s Hockey: Graduate student Alexa Davis scored the game-winner and senior Emma-Sofie Nordström made 45 saves in a 1-0 shutout win over Princeton. Saints Celebrate Wins; Winter Sports ContinueMen's Squash swept the competition to secure 5-4 wins over Bowdoin, Colby, and Bates while Women’s Squash dominated Colby 8-1. The weekend wins continued with Women’s Swimming and Diving securing their fifth straight dual meet victory over Utica as Women’s Ice Hockey defeated Dartmouth 6-2 to celebrate their fourth straight win. Men’s Basketball defeated Vassar 51-50 after topping Canton 76-53 last week while Women's Basketball topped Bard in both match-ups (68-49 and 72-56). Men’s Ice Hockey skated to a 4-4 tie against Clarkson. During the Lake Placid Super Tour, Leif Harvey '25, Lilli Thomas '25, and Emma Strack '25 posted top finishes for Saints Nordic Skiing while Kathleen Merchant ’22, Jackson Hamilton ’23, and Timothy Boyce ’25 won their respective events at the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Middlebury Invitationals.
