    Saints Skate to ECAC Quarterfinals; Spring Sports Continue

    Following a four-game series against Brown, Saints men’s hockey is advancing to the ECAC Quarterfinals where they’ll take on Quinnipiac beginning Friday, March 11 in Connecticut. After defeating Brown 4-1 on Friday, and falling in a 2-1 in an overtime contest, the Skating Saints secured a 4-3 winner-take-all victory on Sunday. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with women’s lacrosse beating SUNY Oneonta 18-8 and men’s lacrosse defeating SUNY Potsdam 16-5 in their season openers while men’s tennis dominated RIT 8-1. ECAC Hockey announced that for the second consecutive season, Lucy Morgan ’23 is the 2022 MAC Women’s Goaltender of the Year and the Liberty League named women's swimming and diving's Maggie Wenger '24 Rookie of the Year. Alpine skiing's Ava Mattsson '22, Nordic skiing's Emma Strack '25 and Brian Beyerbach '23, and men's track and fields' Timothy Boyce '25 will compete in the NCAA Championships this weekend.     Sydney Peterson'24 , a member of the Saints' Nordic ski team, won a silver medal in the women's long-distance classical technique during her 2022 Winter Paralympic Beijing Games debut in Beijing, China. Read about Sydney's victory.

    St. Lawrence Athletics remains committed to adhering to CDC, St. Lawrence County, NCAA SSI, and St. Lawrence University recommendations and protocols. Masking is now optional for fully vaccinated individuals attending athletic events and masks are required for unvaccinated individuals when inside athletic facilities.     St. Lawrence Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Title IX

    Dotty Hall, an influential coach, administrator, and teacher from 1968 until 2000, was on the vanguard of advancing women’s athletics at St. Lawrence before the enactment of Title IX, the watershed legislation that recognized gender equity in education as a civil right. On the 50th anniversary of Title IX, we’re celebrating Hall and her fellow coaches, athletes, and advocates who blazed the trail for women’s athletics at St. Lawrence.

    World Languages Professor Publishes New Book on Ming Dynasty Tales

    Professor of World Languages, Cultures, and Media and Coordinator of Asian Studies Zhenjun Zhang recently collaborated with Professor Victor H. Mair of the University of Pennsylvania to publish a book that presents for the first time in English, 10 stories from China’s Ming Dynasty era.

    Smooth. Sweet. Soaring. Sorrowful. Ntsieng Botsane ’23 discovered new sensory dimensions of music while exploring New Orleans with her Rhetorical Traditions of the African World class.     Volleyball Sweeps the Competition at Home; Fall Sports Continue
    Last week, Saints volleyball secured several 3-0 wins in their at-home matchups against Saint Michael's College, Vassar College, and Bard College. The wins continued with Esports defeating St. Joseph's College 2-0 and Providence College 3-0, while the field hockey team secured a 2-0 non-conference win over SUNY Oswego, and the men's soccer team defeated Clarkson 3-0.  On Friday, Men's Hockey won their season-opener 2-1 on the road against Colorado College while the Saints men's and women's golf teams wrapped up the fall portion of their schedule at the Nazareth Fall Invitational.
