On May 16, President Morris informed the Laurentian community about the passing of Melinda Goss, a former assistant manager of the Brewer Bookstore. Known for her wide-ranging knowledge and thoughtful recommendations, Goss brought a genuine passion for books to her work and was a helpful, collegial presence to both staff and customers. Remembered by colleagues as steady, capable, and skilled at her craft, she was known for her baked goods and for supporting the day-to-day operations that kept our community running smoothly. Kayaking for ~Summer Research~ 🛶 🌱Research isn’t always done in a lab. For University Fellow Peyton Robbins ’26, it’s done in a kayak. He’s working with Professor of Biology Brad Baldwin this summer to explore how invasive water chestnuts affect North Country ecosystems. The work may be serious, but the commentary? Not so much.
