    Visualizing the Adirondacks and St. Lawrence River Valley

    This online digital exhibition created by students in the “Adirondack Arts and Archives” First-Year Seminar features 44 art objects, cultural artifacts, publications, and even a locally crafted wooden canoe. Several items in the exhibition were created by Haudenosaunee artists.

    Saints Shine in NCAA Tournament

    • Men’s Lacrosse: The Saints recorded their second NCAA tournament victory in as many years on Saturday as they took down Middlebury in the second round of the national championship tournament. Senior Bobby Wells recorded a hat trick, including the game-winner with 48 seconds remaining. Despite a hard-fought game, St. Lawrence fell in the third round to No. 1 Tufts.

    On June 19, President Morris informed the Laurentian community about the passing of Professor Emeritus of Education Peter Ladd. A dedicated scholar who devoted nearly five decades to teaching in the University's graduate and undergraduate education programs, Ladd was a prolific and accomplished author who also enjoyed sailing, writing poetry, and spending summers at his cottage in the Thousand Islands.     On May 16, President Morris informed the Laurentian community about the passing of Melinda Goss, a former assistant manager of the Brewer Bookstore. Known for her wide-ranging knowledge and thoughtful recommendations, Goss brought a genuine passion for books to her work and was a helpful, collegial presence to both staff and customers.     On May 19, President Morris informed the Laurentian community about the passing of Joyce Hogle, who worked for 32 years in Dining and Catering. Remembered by colleagues as steady, capable, and skilled at her craft, she was known for her baked goods and for supporting the day-to-day operations that kept our community running smoothly.     St. Lawrence Prepares Students for the Peace Corps and More

    Eleven graduating seniors were recently honored with Peace Corps Prep cords, signaling their hard work and dedication to global service—a distinction recognized by the U.S. Department of State Peace Corps. St. Lawrence is one of only six institutions in New York State to offer the program.

    Saints Brace for Post-Season Action

    • Esports: The Saints continue their Spring dominance as they send four out of their five titles to NECC playoffs, a record high for the Esports program. For a season recap, Rocket League and League of Legends clinched the first seed in their respective divisions, heading into post-season play and ending with a 6-1 divisional record. Overwatch, with a new roster, went 4-3 and secured the second seed in their division. Super Smash Brothers Ultimate finished their season 4-3 and will go head-to-head against Fisher College in their first round of playoff matches.
    • Men’s Lacrosse: The Saints won this past Saturday on the road, taking down Union 11-8. Senior Caleb Torres, junior David Herlihy, and sophomore Daniel Mahoney all had two goals each to secure the win. This was their first conference win of the season.
    • Women’s Lacrosse: St. Lawrence took down Bard this Saturday, putting on an offensive clinic in the 21-1 Liberty League win. Twelve different Saints found the back of the net at least once, as sophomore Jessica LaPlaca and senior Ellie Camp led the charge with four goals each.
    • Men’s Basketball: Junior Adam Dudzinski, senior Aidan Macaulay, and senior Gavin Macaulay received College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District awards for their 2024-2025 season. This trio started all 26 games for the Saints this past season, and to be recognized for this award student-athletes need to have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.
    • Women’s Basketball: Sophomores Elizabeth Flynn and Norah Niesz received the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District awards for the 2024-2025 season. Both players maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.
    • Baseball: The Saints kicked off their three-game series against RIT with a 4-0 win on the road. Sophomores Mike Siano and Jack Finnegan both recorded two hits in the game, while senior Timothy Connor and junior John Gannon each had a hit. Canton native and sophomore David Zuhlsdorf led the way on the mound with seven strikeouts, receiving Liberty League pitcher of the week honors in the process.
    • Women’s Rowing: St. Lawrence University Alumna Maggie Fellows ’13 wrapped up the 2025 Winter Speed Order with a win in the 1x final to kick off her journey towards the LA Summer Olympics in 2028 and the Shanghai Worlds. The Warwick, Mass. native and three-time national team member recorded a time of 8:00.11, which landed her first place in the women’s singles sculls A final as she beat out three Olympians in the process.

    Jonathan Kent ’04 Will Lead Enrollment at His Alma Mater

    Following a national search that drew a highly competitive pool of candidates, St. Lawrence University is welcoming back one of its own. Jonathan Kent ’04 returned to his alma mater to begin his new role as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid on July 7.

    Campus Barbecues Make Summer Wednesdays Sizzle

    For at least the last 15 years, every Wednesday over the summer at noon the smell of grilled burgers and hot dogs attracts students, faculty, and staff remaining on campus for a communal barbecue outside Johnson Hall of Science.

    Kayaking for ~Summer Research~ 🛶 🌱

    Research isn’t always done in a lab. For University Fellow Peyton Robbins ’26, it’s done in a kayak. He’s working with Professor of Biology Brad Baldwin this summer to explore how invasive water chestnuts affect North Country ecosystems. The work may be serious, but the commentary? Not so much.     New Cybersecurity Major at St. Lawrence University Prepares Students for a Complex Digital World

    St. Lawrence Board of Trustees Elects Five New Members

    The St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome three new members for six-year terms: Taylor Castator ’15, Grant H. Cornwell ’79, and Christopher P. Yoshida ’00. The board is also delighted to welcome young alumni Oscar Acevedo ’19 and Sarah Evarts ’17 as McCurdy-Sprague trustees, with a term of four years. Our new members begin their service on June 1.

Greenwood '75, P'13, Katherine Kretow Eyre '78, and Jack '11 and Emily Tulip Droppa '09 will receive Alumni Citations for their dedication and service to the Laurentian Community, while Mary Jane Potter '75 will receive the Sol Feinstone Award for Humanitarian Service.

    St. Lawrence University was recently honored with the “Summa Cum Laude” award from United Way of Northern New York, which recognizes the University’s “unwavering commitment” and “honors-level leadership” in support of the local community.

    St. Lawrence Recognized for Worker Safety Success

    St. Lawrence’s workers compensation trust recently won a Theo Award, which honors Theodore Roosevelt’s contributions to worker safety and those who continue that work, and is one of the top industry awards for risk and insurance in the worker safety space.

    Here We Go Saints 2025: Support Saints Athletics and enhance the student-athlete experience during our annual donor drive, which ends tonight at 8 p.m. Gifts to varsity teams and key areas like the Bob Durocher Champions Fund, strength & conditioning, athletic medicine, and sports info make a direct impact.     Women’s Tennis: Senior Angelica Aksdal-Jansen reached the ITA Northeast Regional semifinals, one of just four remaining from a 128-player field. She rallied to win the second set but fell 6-3 in the third to NYU’s Victoria Wang.

    Women’s Soccer: Senior Meredith Donahue scored early in Sunday’s match, but the Saints settled for a 1-1 draw at Hamilton. SLU’s record now stands at 4-3-3.

    Men’s Golf: First-year Conlin Bradshaw surged 14 spots on Sunday at the Bowdoin Invitational, finishing T-7th with a 146. He birdied four holes in the final round to cut six strokes off his score.
