Mahdi Khadem joins St. Lawrence University as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Biology. He earned his Ph.D. from Florida State University, where his research studied the role of the SWI/SNF ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complex in cellular reprogramming. His current research interests center on uncovering the molecular alterations that drive cancer development and progression using genomic approaches. Beyond his research, Mahdi believes his greater impact comes from training students who will become the future scholars, shaping both the scientific community and society at large. Outside the lab, he enjoys photography, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends.
