Jaime Carroll
I am a proud Canton native, born and raised here in the North Country. My connection to St. Lawrence University began long before my career here. Growing up just one house away from campus on Lincoln Street, I spent much of my childhood immersed in the university community and was fortunate to have a Delta Delta Delta "big sister" who helped foster my early connection to St. Lawrence. I later attended SUNY Canton to study Finance, further strengthening my ties to the area I have always called home. Even during the years I lived away from the North Country, those connections remained strong. In fact, when my daughter was born in Newark, Delaware, she was delivered by a St. Lawrence alumna who was studying at the University of Delaware, a remarkably unexpected coincidence that perfectly reflects how SLU has been a thread woven throughout my life.
Coming from a law enforcement and military family, I developed an early appreciation for public service, dedication, and mission-driven work. Before joining St. Lawrence University, I spent more than a decade building a career in human resources, talent acquisition, and operations management. Much of that time was dedicated to supporting the US Department of Defense in the aerospace, defense, and national security sectors, where I partnered with organizations including the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Defense Intelligence Agency, BAE Systems, L3Harris Technologies, Lockheed Martin, and many others. I was especially passionate about recruiting and supporting professionals whose work directly contributed to our nation's defense, intelligence, and security missions. Along the way, I held leadership roles in human resources and recruiting across a variety of industries, allowing me to work with people from diverse professional backgrounds and foster a deep appreciation for the importance of organizational support, collaboration, and community connection.
Returning to Canton and joining St. Lawrence University has brought my professional journey full circle. Today, I support the academic departments of MCSS (Math, Computer Science, & Statistics), Psychology, Physics, and Geology, and enjoy contributing to the success of faculty, staff, and students at an institution that has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Outside of work, I enjoy embarrassing my two children and cuddling four spoiled cats. A lifelong North Country angler, I've been fishing the Raquette River since I was a kid and still consider time on the water my favorite way to unwind. When I'm not outdoors, you'll often find me enjoying classic PS3, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis games.
