Sofia Zareizadeh

Sofia Zareizadeh '26 (she/they) is pursuing an interdisciplinary path in Biomedical Sciences and Performance & Communication Arts, with a minor in Gender and Sexuality. Originally from Fasa, Iran, they are a graduate of United World College Hong Kong. 

At St. Lawrence, Sofia has shaped campus life through significant leadership roles, including serving as the President of Student Government, Thelomathesian Society, and as the Deputy Director for SLU EMS. They continue their involvement in these organizations while now also acting as Vice President of Weave News and serving as a member of the DUB (Women’s Resource Center). Sofia further supports their peers professionally as a Career Coach Intern. 

Committed to connecting academia with real-world impact, Sofia has actively engaged with career development programs as a LINC mentor, a participant in SLU Connect Boston, and a contributor to the RISE Summit. A key professional experience was made possible through an Internship Fellowship, which funded a service research position at UNICEF in Geneva, Switzerland, focused on female reproductive health, a field she is deeply passionate about. 

Looking ahead, Sofia aims to build a career at the intersection of reproductive health research and advocacy, leveraging her skills in science, policy, and filmmaking. Outside of their pursuits, they enjoy rock climbing.
