Senior Year Exhibition: "Whose kids are these?!"

- Richard F. Brush Art Gallery
Exhibition

Opening Reception on Friday, April 24, at 5:00 p.m., in the Art Gallery.

This year, for the Senior Studio Art SYE exhibition, we focused inward, creating art that reflects what is independently meaningful to each person, rather than curating a specific theme. Through this individually attentive filter, we created uniquely specific artworks, imbuing our own artistic visions and identities into each work.  Our images vary in subject and meaning, from environmental issues and in consideration of wild animals to memories and reflecting on one’s growth as an individual.

In molding these works through our own techniques, each work becomes special, cared for, and intensely meaningful.  From painting, ceramics and printmaking to digital collage, photography, and video, we each highlighted that which makes us artists.  Growing and developing our works over these past months, the artworks have become like our children, each artist proud but a little bit angry with their work.  These images are our loves, and the resulting artworks are the kids born from that love. -the artists
