In partnership with the Alumni Executive Council, the University continues "Laurentians Learn," a series of webinars aimed at expanding learning opportunities from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and parents on important and interesting topics.
Join us this month for: Fellows, Interns, & Archives, Oh My! Reflections on the 2019 Adirondack Interviews by Ned Hallahan ’21 with Paul Doty, University Archives Librarian
Since 2018, a number of students have worked on projects in the St. Lawrence University Library archives through the Summer Research Fellowship Program or the On-Campus Internship Program. Among the projects was Ned Hallahan’s 2019 Summer Fellowship, in which he interviewed artists, writers, and photographers who reside in the Adirondacks for our Adirondack Manuscript Collection. This work was the subject of an article Doty published in the Adirondack Journal of Environmental Studies in 2024. This talk will reflect on Ned’s project, the Adirondack Collection, and what Doty believes students can accomplish by rolling up their sleeves and engaging in the sometimes fastidious, sometimes dusty, always off-line work found in the archives. Doty will also provide an overview of some of the other projects done by fellows and interns that specifically bespeak St. Lawrence University or the region.
Register by 12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
