Designing Courses: From Goals to Class Planning

- ODY: MacAllaster Room
General Event

Thoughtful course design starts with clear goals. This session introduces backward design as a practical framework for aligning course objectives, assignments, and in-class activities to support meaningful student learning.

Hosted by the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Assessment (CITA), this workshop will guide participants through the backward design process, focusing on how to intentionally connect learning goals to course structure and class planning. Faculty will explore strategies for designing new courses or refining existing ones, with time built in to actively work on their own course materials in preparation for the Fall semester.
