Instructions for Obtaining MSDS and SDS Sheets at SLU

Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

St. Lawrence University has contracted with MSDSOnline to provide Safety Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets, per The Federal OSHA Standards, 29 CFR 1910.1200, which requires that employers (SLU) provide access to current Safety Data Sheets and Material Safety Data Sheets for all hazardous materials used by employees and/or customers. St. Lawrence University, through MSDSOnline, will provide up-to-date MSDS information using the internet.

To locate a SDS or MSDS - 24 hours a day, seven days a week – visit SLU MSDSOnline.

To search, select the MSDSOnline Search button. You will need to know the product name manufacturer name, product code or CAS number to locate the SDS/MSDS you need.

SLU's Environmental Health and Safety Office can provide complete information on this contracted service. If you need assistance or do not have internet access call the Chemical Hygiene officer, (Suna Stone McMasters), Friday, 9am – 5:30 pm at 229-5105, or the Risk and Safety Department at 229-5913. After hours call Safety and Security at 5555 and they will contact the Chemical Hygiene Officer or Risk Manager.
