How to Export/Backup and Import/Restore Bookmarks in Chrome

Backing up (Exporting) Bookmarks

  1. Click on the Chrome Menu (the three vertical dots in the top right corner).
  2. Click Bookmarks and Lists.
  3. Click Bookmark Manager.
  4. Click the Settings Menu (the three vertical dots in the top right corner next to Search Bookmarks).
  5. Click Export Bookmarks.
  6. Save the file in your desired location.

Restoring (Importing) Bookmarks

  1. Click on the Chrome Menu (the three vertical dots in the top right corner).
  2. Click Bookmarks and Lists.
  3. Click Bookmark Manager.
  4. Click the Settings Menu (the three vertical dots in the top right corner next to Search Bookmarks).
  5. Click Import Bookmarks.
  6. Select the file that was created during the export and click Open.
  7. If Chrome asks if you’d like to replace your bookmarks with the saved bookmarks, click OK.
