The Richard F. Brush Art Gallery Has Been Selected to Participate in a Risk Assessment and Emergency Preparedness ProgramThe Richard F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University has been selected to participate in a Risk Assessment and Emergency Preparedness Program, partially funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The program is administered by the Conservation Center for Art & Historical Artifacts to assist with identifying potential threats to the Gallery’s permanent collection, and to offer strategies for mitigating them. |
Carnegie 10 International Film Series – Lost & Love- Carnegie 10 This movie was inspired by the true story of Guo Gangtang, who searched for twenty-four years for his son who had been abducted from their home at two years old. Guo became a folk hero for traveling the country with "missing child" banners flying on his motorcycle. |

Saints Secure Wins to Kick Off the Fall SeasonSaints Men’s Golf secured its first win of the season with a combined score of 602 at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course, marking the first victory for first-year Head Coach Dave Clausen at St. Lawrence. Gabe Ward ’27 finished as the tournament runner-up with a combined score of 147, earning him the Saints Athlete of the Week honors. Mary Grace McCann ’25 led the women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the St. Lawrence Invitational, placing third individually with a combined score of 157 (77, 80). Sadie Cumming ’28 also performed well, finishing 11th with a score of 169 (84, 85) in her collegiate debut. The winning streak for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Nick Lyndaker '26 secured a first-place finish at the Plattsburgh 5K, with a time of 16:11.4, propelling the Saints Men’s Cross Country team to the top of the leaderboard. Avery Blanchard ’28 led the women’s cross country team to a first-place finish with a time of 19:28.0 while Charlotte Blake ’27 and Adriana Cecchetelli ’26 followed closely, finishing in second (19:50.8) and third (20:02.1), respectively. At the Mary Hosking Invitational, Molly Jespersen ’26 advanced to the A draw final for Saints Women’s Tennis. She defeated RIT 8-6 in the semifinal match before falling to the University of Rochester. Saints Field Hockey will celebrate its 50th anniversary with alumni and friends during the home opener on Saturday, September 7, at 7 p.m. against SUNY Oswego. Saints Open the Season SensationallyFootball: Senior quarterback Will Lederman was named MVP after leading the Saints to a season-opening 19–3 win over Norwich Friday night, securing the Hoffman Cup for the fifth straight year. Lederman threw for 144 yards on nine completions, including a 41-yard pass and a touchdown. He also rushed for 16 yards and added a second touchdown on the ground. Women’s Tennis: Senior Molly Jespersen won the A draw flight championship as the women’s tennis team wrapped up the Union Invitational with third-flight victories. Jespersen also claimed her second A draw win in doubles, teaming with senior Angelica Aksdal-Jensen for back-to-back 8–3 wins in the semifinal and final. Jespersen was named Liberty League Singles Performer of the Week and, alongside Aksdal-Jensen, Doubles Team of the Week. Field Hockey: Senior Mayson Blondek scored twice, and first-year goalie Petra Gamage made seven saves to help secure a team shutout with senior Elizabeth Walsh as the Saints earned their second consecutive 5–0 win Saturday at Moravian. St. Lawrence now holds a 3–0 record and has yet to concede a goal in 2025. Women’s Soccer: Juniors Barrett Freeman and Kiki D’Anza each scored, while junior Chloe Bourque added two assists to lead the Saints to a 2–1 victory over Nazareth on Saturday at Sandy MacAllaster Field. Men’s Hockey: Greg Gardner joined the men’s hockey coaching staff as Assistant Coach ahead of the program’s centennial season. Gardner brings over 20 years of collegiate and professional experience, known for developing elite goaltenders and contributing to championship-level teams. He arrives from Mercyhurst University, where he served as Associate Head Coach from 2014 to 2025. Men’s Golf: Senior Jimmy King cut four strokes off his round one score to lead the Saints to a second-place finish at the St. Lawrence Fall Invite at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course. King shot two over par for the weekend, climbing four spots in round two to finish third overall with a 146. Women’s Golf: Sophomore Sadie Cumming tied for third after round one with a 77, birdieing holes nine and 18. She followed with an 80 in round two to hold her position and finish the St. Lawrence Fall Invite with a 157 at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course. Morris and Senior Associate Vice President for Athletics Bob Durocher to honor the life and impact of Enzo Corigliano '22 as they dedicated a squash court in his honor. |
NCAA Championship Invites for Members of Men's XC; Winter Sports UnderwayFollowing their performances at the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday, Jackson Hamilton ’23, George David Gowdy ’23, and Timothy Boyce ’25 have earned invitations to the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship in Louisville, Kentucky. Men's Soccer closed their 2021 season after falling 2-0 to Washington College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Football closed their 2021 season with a 41-6 win over Buffalo State on Saturday, while Men’s Squash beat Hobart 7-2 and Women's Squash defeated William Smith 6-3 in their respective season openers. The Saturday wins continued with Women’s Swimming and Diving topping William Smith 113-95 and Women’s Basketball beating SUNY Poly 74-48 after defeating SUNY Potsdam 68-60 in their season opener last week. Men’s Basketball kicked off their season with a 80-67 win against Alfred State College on Friday and a 69-65 overtime win against Alfred University on Saturday.
