    A "Landslide" Success: Geology Students Take Home Collaborative Research Award at Annual Conference

    Audrey Bowman ’24 and Annabella Kennedy ’24 took home the Austin Sartin Collaborative Research Award at the Geological Society of America’s (GSA) annual meeting in Denver, Colorado.

    New York Six Professors to Create End-of-Life Care Research Course

    New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium (NY6) faculty recently collaborated with community leaders operating residential care homes in Upstate New York to develop a new research course that examines end-of-life care.

  7. Film Screening: Peace, Propaganda and The Promised Land

    "Peace, Propaganda and The Promised Land," directed by Sut Jhally, Bathsheba Ratzko, Kenyon King, and Kelly Garner, provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This is a campus-only event.

    Auditions for Fall Dance Concert!

    - Intermediate to advanced dancers interested in developing new work with dance faculty member Jessie Madden are encouraged to sign up for Fall Dance Concert auditions held Saturday, September 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Working collaboratively as a cast, the piece will explore states of water in nature and their resonance with our own lived experiences.

    Exhibition: Our Place in the Scheme of Things

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery This exhibition underscores the essential elements of the environment — water, air, earth — and their degradation caused by storms, fire, and drought often brought about by human pursuits. Photographs and videos on display reflect the relationship between the physical and metaphysical, serving as a spiritual, biophilic statement that highlights the environmental challenges that contemporary societies confront.

    Exhibition: Change Is a More Accurate Measure of Time Photographs by Mark Klett, SLU class of 1974

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery This exhibition is presented in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Mark Klett’s graduation from St. Lawrence University in 1974. The show features 12 photographs from "El Camino del Diablo," a project based on a journey by a young mining engineer, Raphael Pumpelly, through Arizona and Mexico in 1861 on “the road of the devil.”

    Saints Secure Wins to Kick Off the Fall Season

    Saints Men’s Golf secured its first win of the season with a combined score of 602 at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course, marking the first victory for first-year Head Coach Dave Clausen at St. Lawrence. Gabe Ward ’27 finished as the tournament runner-up with a combined score of 147, earning him the Saints Athlete of the Week honors. Mary Grace McCann ’25 led the women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the St. Lawrence Invitational, placing third individually with a combined score of 157 (77, 80). Sadie Cumming ’28 also performed well, finishing 11th with a score of 169 (84, 85) in her collegiate debut. The winning streak for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Nick Lyndaker '26 secured a first-place finish at the Plattsburgh 5K, with a time of 16:11.4, propelling the Saints Men’s Cross Country team to the top of the leaderboard. Avery Blanchard ’28 led the women’s cross country team to a first-place finish with a time of 19:28.0 while Charlotte Blake ’27 and Adriana Cecchetelli ’26 followed closely, finishing in second (19:50.8) and third (20:02.1), respectively.  At the Mary Hosking Invitational, Molly Jespersen ’26 advanced to the A draw final for Saints Women’s Tennis. She defeated RIT 8-6 in the semifinal match before falling to the University of Rochester.  Saints Field Hockey will celebrate its 50th anniversary with alumni and friends during the home opener on Saturday, September 7, at 7 p.m. against SUNY Oswego.

    Saints Skate to Victory; Seasons Continue

    The Scarlet and Brown dominated the competition on Friday as men's hockey defeated Princeton 6-2 in Appleton Arena and women's hockey secured a 7-3 win over Dartmouth on the road. The weekend wins for the Saints continued with men's basketball securing a 69-65 overtime win over Ithaca on Saturday after defeating RPI 56-53 on Friday while men's squash beat MIT 5-4. Men's tennis defeated Daemen University 7-2 at home as the Saints men's track and field DMR team took first place at the Fastrack Invitational.
