“Digital Storytelling for the Environment” Grant AwardedThe Digital Scholarship team at St. Lawrence University has been awarded a $12K grant from the Northern New York Library Network (NNLYN) to leverage digital storytelling tools and techniques to help students and faculty construct powerful environmental narratives with real-world impacts. The grant supports the purchase of professional production equipment intended for outdoor use, such as light-shaping tools, field-recording microphones, and macro lenses, as well as the creation of new training workshops and related web resources on the fundamentals of environmental storytelling. |
DHPSNY Caring for Photograph Collections Workshop- Frost-Ferguson Room, Owen D. Young Library Room 204 DHPSNY workshops promote interactive learning, networking, and collaboration. Offered free of cost to New York institutions, these programs address the needs of professionals and volunteers at institutions that manage unique library research materials and historical records, including libraries, archives, and museums. Presented throughout the state, workshops emphasize hands-on learning exercises and provide supplemental resources. See below for descriptions and registration for upcoming workshops. |

A Week of Winning!Saints baseball recorded their first sweep of league play over the weekend, downing RIT with three wins, 14-6, 4-1 and 10-9, all in nine-inning contests on Friday and Saturday. Entering the final week and a half of the regular season, the Saints play Clarkson in a three-game series beginning Friday with playoff implications for both teams. The Saints currently occupy the fifth seed in the Liberty Leagues west division, with five teams making the postseason. Both men’s and women’s tennis teams took victories in their league play over the weekend, with men’s tennis beating Bard 9-0 and went 1-1 overall on the week, also losing to RPI. Women’s tennis also downed Bard 9-0 and engaged in a close match against RPI, narrowly losing 5-4. Yvette Karara '27 was perfect on the weekend, including a 2-0 day in the tight defeat against the Engineers. Esports season officially came to an end on a 4-1 playoff loss to Kennesaw State. The team enjoyed a successful campaign, finishing second in the Northeast Region and top 14 in the nation within their division of the National Esports Collegiate Conference. Jimmy King '26 tied for sixth place to lead the St. Lawrence men's golf team at the Farmingdale Spring Invitational over the weekend at the par-70 Bethpage Black Course in Long Island, New York. St. Lawrence University’s Native American Affairs and the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery present One Earring, an exhibition designed to raise awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP). Representing those who were stolen or never returned home, the One Earring project was inspired by the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs Office of Justice Services exhibition of the same title in 2022.

Saints Baseball Sweeps Competition, Saints Spring Sports ContinueSaints baseball swung into the spring season with a sweep–defeating Old Westbury 1-0 and 13-9 during the Russmatt Invitational in Florida. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints men's lacrosse dominating Bates 16-7 and the University of Lynchburg 14-5 at the Mustang Classic in Maryland, as the women's team secured a 14-11 win over University of Rochester at home. Saints esports shut out Bellarmine University 2-0 after defeating Brewton-Parker College 2-0 and Marist College 4-2 last week. Skating Saints defenseman Luc Salem '24 was named a Second-Team All-ECAC Hockey selection and Abhisheka David '26 and Nick Lynadker '26 were named 2022-23 Liberty League rookies of the year in women's squash and men's indoor track and field.
