    Saints to Compete in Liberty League Matchups

    It was a great weekend to be a Saint! On Saturday, Saints men's basketball closed out the regular season with a 71-63 win over Union, the team's sixth straight victory, after topping Skidmore 65-55 on Friday. Both the men's and women's basketball teams will head to the Liberty League Semi-Finals this weekend. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints men's and women's tennis teams securing a pair of 9-0 wins over SUNY Oneonta at home on Saturday while men's hockey beat Cornell 1-0 on the road and women's hockey beat Princeton 3-1 at home after defeating Quinnipiac 4-1 on Friday.  During the CSA Team Nationals on Sunday, women's squash beat Haverford College 8-1 and several members of the Saints swimming and diving and track and field teams secured individual wins to qualify for league championships.     When Christopher Spitzmiller ’94 graduated from St. Lawrence with his degree in fine arts, the ceramicist knew he was destined to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and run his own business.     St. Lawrence’s NYC Program Kicks Off Spring 2025 Semester

    The Spring 2025 semester of St. Lawrence's New York City Program is officially underway, bringing together a distinguished cohort of 12 highly motivated students. Throughout the semester, these students will complete full-time internships across the city from Monday through Thursday while also enrolling in two academic courses.

    Mathematics Major Eliza Brown Presents at the Joint Mathematics Meeting in Seattle

    Eliza's presentation featured research she completed with Dr. Gabriel Dorfsman-Hopkins: "Exploring Mandelbrot Escape Velocity," where she created 3D prints depicting how quickly points pass outside the Mandlebrot set move towards infinity.

The event is free, open to the public, and available via livestream.

    Saints Win Big and Earn Accolades

    • Men’s Squash: The Saints went 2-0 this week, edging Hamilton 5-4 in a close match before securing a dominant 9-0 sweep over Dickinson on their Senior Day. Senior Lewis Anderson earned the victory at No. 1, while fellow seniors Hassan Madkour and Dean Brooker recorded three-game sweeps. The Saints, now 5-5, will compete in the Liberty League Championship this weekend, hosted at St. Lawrence.
    • Alpine Skiing: Senior Kobe Villeneuve landed on the podium with a career-best second-place finish in the men’s giant slalom at the Saint Michael’s Carnival. Villeneuve clocked a two-run time of 1:49.15, just 0.01 seconds behind the first-place finisher. His finish marks the first podium for the Saints in the event since Graham Scott ’15 placed second in 2012. The Saints finished fourth overall in the giant slalom.
    • Men’s Hockey: Seniors Will Arquiett and Philippe Chapleau each scored a goal in Friday night’s 2-1 home victory over Cornell. On Saturday, the Skating Saints honored the 25th anniversary of the 1999-2000 Frozen Four team with an on-ice ceremony at Appleton Arena.
    • Men’s Basketball: Two Saints recorded career-high 26-point performances as the team went 1-1 on the road. On Friday, senior Aidan Macaulay led the Saints to a 77-65 win over Bard with his 26-point effort. Junior Dan Anderson matched that total on Saturday against Vassar.
    • Women’s Basketball: The Saints dominated Bard on Friday night with a strong defensive performance, securing a 68-35 victory. Sophomore Elizabeth Flynn recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
    • Nordic Skiing: The men’s team competed in 3.5K skate relays on day two of the Saint Michael’s Carnival. Sophomore Geo DeBrosse, first-year Evan Nichols, and junior Trevor Aitken combined for a time of 43:43.8, placing 15th and earning 46 team points. The women’s team of sophomore Samantha Legate, first-year Caroline Tarmy, and senior Lilli Thomas finished 17th with a time of 50:17.7, earning 39 points.
    • Cross Country: Both cross-country teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team honors this past week. On the women’s side, senior McKenna Allardi was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete, while junior Patrick Russell and senior Matthew Taylor received the same distinction on the men’s team.
