A Weekend of Winning!The Women's Soccer Team kicked off the weekend with a home game victory against Vassar College, winning 1-0. They continued their winning streak on Saturday, triumphing over Bard College with a score of 2-0. The Men's Soccer Team also secured a 5-0 victory against Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. Partial Eclipse Over CampusDuring the mid-semester break, St. Lawrence University Eclipse Center and students from the Society of Physics hosted a Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing on the Java Quad. During this extraordinary spectacle, the moon partially covers the sun's disk, resulting in temporary dimming of sunlight and brightness in its path. It was an afternoon of cosmic celebration, with telescopes, lawn games, music, and snacks, and of course, seeing the entire partial eclipse—they even identified a sunspot! Marking the start of a new academic year, faculty, staff, and university personnel gathered to celebrate the contributions of all members of the St. Lawrence community. The University recognized faculty who earned tenure and promotions during the annual Convocation and honored several employees with awards for their outstanding service. The ceremony was held outside the Herring-Cole Grove in the Enchanted Forest on Wednesday, August 23.
