    St. Lawrence University Names John Christopher as Inaugural Vice President and General Counsel

    St. Lawrence has named John Christopher its inaugural Vice President and General Counsel, President Kathryn A. Morris announced on Aug. 10. Christopher, who will also serve as Secretary of the University Corporation, plans to begin his duties on Sept. 12.

    University Receives $1.5 Million Gift to Support Well-being and Honor Golf Coach

    Inspired by her passion to promote mental health and well-being on our campus, especially the emotional wellness of student-athletes, Jan Egbers P’21 is presenting St. Lawrence University with a $1.5 million gift, which will create an endowment to support St. Lawrence mental health and counseling services. The fund also honors retiring long-time Head Golf Coach Mary Lawrence by naming the position the Mary A. Lawrence Head Coach for Men's and Women's Golf.

    Saints Wrap Up Seasons; Earn Athletic and Academic Accolades

    After breaking program records and securing several podium finishes this year, Timothy Boyce '25 and Emma Palumbo '25 capped off their respective rookie seasons by securing 14th and 15th place finishes at the NCAA Track and Field Championship Meet. In recognition of her exemplary leadership on and off the field, Saints Women's Lacrosse Captain and ROTC Commander Abigail Eberle '22 was named a 2022 Yeardley Reynolds Love Unsung Hero Award recipient while Isabel Silvia '22 earned IQCLA Third-Team All-American honors, making her the 17th All-American in the history of the Saints Women's Lacrosse program. Five members of the men's lacrosse team were awarded USILA-Dynamic Division II All-American honors while Nicholas Butler '22 was named to All-Region 3 Third Team, and several Saints were named to the Academic All-District team for their academic and athletics achievements. For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

    Saints Winter Sports in Full Swing

    While the men's and women's cross country teams concluded the fall season with individual and team appearances at the NCAA National Championships, the winter sports season continues in full swing for the Saints. Over the weekend, men's basketball defeated SUNY Canton 68-52 and SUNY Potsdam 71-62  after beating Plattsburgh 77-65 earlier in the week.  Women's basketball topped Plattsburgh 60-58 while men's squash opened its season with a 9-0 shutout over Brown University on Sunday.     Members of the women's ice hockey team Julia Gosling '23 and Abby Hustler '25 received invitations to join Canada’s National Women’s Program camp. During the 11-day camp, the pair will vye for spots on Canada’s National Women’s Team, Canada’s National Women’s Development Team, and Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team.     - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery The Richard F. Brush Art Gallery presents work by one of the most well-known contemporary American street artists, Shepard Fairey on display from Wednesday, August 10 through Saturday, September 3.
