Saints Celebrate Wins; Winter Sports ContinueMen's Squash swept the competition to secure 5-4 wins over Bowdoin, Colby, and Bates while Women’s Squash dominated Colby 8-1. The weekend wins continued with Women’s Swimming and Diving securing their fifth straight dual meet victory over Utica as Women’s Ice Hockey defeated Dartmouth 6-2 to celebrate their fourth straight win. Men’s Basketball defeated Vassar 51-50 after topping Canton 76-53 last week while Women's Basketball topped Bard in both match-ups (68-49 and 72-56). Men’s Ice Hockey skated to a 4-4 tie against Clarkson. During the Lake Placid Super Tour, Leif Harvey '25, Lilli Thomas '25, and Emma Strack '25 posted top finishes for Saints Nordic Skiing while Kathleen Merchant ’22, Jackson Hamilton ’23, and Timothy Boyce ’25 won their respective events at the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Middlebury Invitationals. Saints Riding Named Reserve Champs; Spring Sports ContinueThe riding team is headed to the IHSA Nationals after being named the Reserve Champions at the IHSA Zone II Finals on Saturday. Following the show, St. Lawrence University President Kathryn Morris presented the Saints with the Reserve Champion trophy. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints Softball defeating Union (7-6, 6-3) after dominating Wells (21-0, 25-0) and SUNY Plattsburgh (11-4) while Saints Baseball secured wins over RIT (6-5) and SUNY Canton (11-7). Men’s lacrosse defeated Skidmore 22-4 after topping SUNY Plattsburgh 25-5 and women’s lacrosse defeated Skidmore 21-13, Union 16-12, and SUNY Canton 20-11 while women’s tennis beat William Smith 7-2. SLU Wins All Weekend LongWomen’s Track and Field: St. Lawrence opened the Holiday Relays with multiple wins. Junior Carly Zack won the 3000 in 11:03.29, junior Quinn Sirgany took the mile in 5:27.09, junior Charlotte Blake won the 1000 in 3:21.10, and senior Amelia Berthold claimed the 60-meter hurdles in 9.82. Men’s Track and Field: The Saints posted several victories at the Holiday Relays. Junior Riley Cushman won the 600, first-year Luke Calvin captured the mile, and sophomore Erik Marelli won the 60 hurdles. St. Lawrence swept the relays and added field wins from junior Brendan O’Horo in the pole vault (3.95m) and junior John Mahoney in the long jump at 6.31 meters. Women’s Basketball: Senior Jackie Malley scored 21 points and senior Hannah Van Dyke grabbed 12 rebounds to spark a fourth-quarter comeback in a five-point win at Rensselaer. The Saints move to 5-2 overall and 1-1 in league play heading into Wednesday’s home game vs. Hamilton. Swimming and Diving: The men’s team advanced on the scoreboard at the Don Richards Invitational to place fourth, while the women’s team placed fifth overall among a crowded field at the large invite in Rochester, N.Y.
