“Digital Storytelling for the Environment” Grant AwardedThe Digital Scholarship team at St. Lawrence University has been awarded a $12K grant from the Northern New York Library Network (NNLYN) to leverage digital storytelling tools and techniques to help students and faculty construct powerful environmental narratives with real-world impacts. The grant supports the purchase of professional production equipment intended for outdoor use, such as light-shaping tools, field-recording microphones, and macro lenses, as well as the creation of new training workshops and related web resources on the fundamentals of environmental storytelling. |
DHPSNY Caring for Photograph Collections Workshop- Frost-Ferguson Room, Owen D. Young Library Room 204 DHPSNY workshops promote interactive learning, networking, and collaboration. Offered free of cost to New York institutions, these programs address the needs of professionals and volunteers at institutions that manage unique library research materials and historical records, including libraries, archives, and museums. Presented throughout the state, workshops emphasize hands-on learning exercises and provide supplemental resources. See below for descriptions and registration for upcoming workshops. |

Saints Hit a Winning Streak and Secure First Place VictoriesField Hockey—Junior Caroline Hamilton scored two goals, including a dramatic go-ahead goal in the dying seconds of the game, and senior Cara Vredenburg made 16 saves as field hockey earned a conference victory in the Liberty League opener, 2-1 over Skidmore. The win is St. Lawrence’s third straight victory. Men’s Rowing—The 2024-25 fall portion of the schedule opened at the Mohawk Fall Classic Regatta in Scotia, N.Y. on Sunday. With five boats in the men's 2V race, St. Lawrence's 'B' boat with first-year Luke Rucolas and senior Sam Sternhagen placed first with a time of 15:00.62. Women’s Rowing—The 2024-25 fall portion of the schedule opened at the Mohawk Fall Classic Regatta in Scotia, N.Y. on Sunday. The Saints 'A' Varsity 8 rowed to a first-place finish, recording a time of 15:29. 67. Women’s Hockey—Three different Saints scored, including a first-career goal for first-year Alexia Côté, as eighth-ranked women's hockey opened the 2024-25 season with a 3-0 win over Merrimack in a Friday morning game at Lawler Rink. St. Lawrence moved to 1-0-0 on the season, while Merrimack fell to 0-1-0. Côté took ECAC Hockey Bitcoin Rookie of the Week honors for the performance. Men’s Tennis—Senior Edvin Strandberg was the lone Saint to represent men’s tennis at the ITA Northeast Regionals on the campus of Drew University, and advanced to the Round of 16 yesterday with a pair of wins. This morning, Strandberg went to a tiebreak in the opening game losing 6-7 (3) and fell 0-6 in the final game to end his run. The team will be back in action in February. Saints Secure Spring Break WinsThe Scarlet and Brown returned home after dominating Spring Break competitions in Florida and Maryland last week. Saints baseball beat St. Olaf College 6-1 and Union 2-1, 8-5 while men's tennis defeated Goucher College 6-3 and Hope College 7-2 and women's tennis topped Luther College 5-4 and George Fox University 8-1. Over the weekend, Saints softball dominated Keuka College 13-2 as men's lacrosse defeated Western New England University 14-9 and women's lacrosse beat Ithaca 12-14 after defeating Stevenson University 11-10 earlier in the week.
