    Saints Lacrosse Teams Earn Bids to NCAAs

    The Saints Men’s and Women’s lacrosse teams are headed to the 2022 NCAA Tournaments! Continuing a record-breaking season, women’s lacrosse will face Tufts in a second-round game on May 15 in Medford, Massachusetts. After defeating Union 15-9 in the Liberty League Semifinal, the 10th in the nation-ranked men's team will head to Brunswick, Maine to matchup against SUNY Cortland on May 14. Success for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints Baseball defeating Vassar 20-5 and 5-4 while the riding team’s Fenn Novicki ’22 was named a National Champion and Allison Bauer ’22 earned Reserve National Champion honors at the IHSA Nationals. During the Liberty League Track and Field Championship, Kathleen Merchant ’22 won her third javelin title while Emma Palumbo ’25 won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, and Kimberly Merchant ’22 won the discus. Saints Women’s Rowing closed out the 2021-22 season at the National Invitational Rowing Championships while the second Varsity 8 led the men's rowing team with a first-place finish at the Great Adirondack Boat Race at Long Lake.     Celebrating Holi

    Students recently gathered together to celebrate Holi, a festival of water and color, the arrival of spring, the long awaited end of winter, and the blossoming of love. The colorful celebration was coordinated by The Asian Students Intercultural Association and SLU Peer Health Network.

    St. Lawrence University Announces 2025 Commencement Speakers 

    In recognition of their outstanding accomplishments and enduring contributions to St. Lawrence University and the North Country community, Mike Ranger ’80, P’17, and Stephanie Ratcliffe P’13, ’16, will be honored during the Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 18. Professor of Education Jeff Frank will deliver the address to the Class of 2025.

    Laurentians Outearn Prestigious Off-Campus Study Scholarships

    This Spring, 60 percent of St. Lawrence applicants to the Gilman Scholarship successfully received the award money. That’s more than double the national average recipient rate of about 25 percent.

    - Congratulations, St. Lawrence Class of 2025! The Laurentian community will come together in a campus-wide celebration of the graduating class. The commencement ceremony will be held Sunday, May 18.

    Saints Advance to Liberty League Championships

    • Men’s Lacrosse: The Saints advanced to the Liberty League Championship game vs. RIT Sunday, but the Tigers held on for a 11-10 win. The team earned an at-large bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament and will face Middlebury in the second round of the tournament at Tufts University on Saturday. Additionally, Six Saints were awarded All-League honors by the Liberty League conference office earlier this week. Seniors Bobby Wells, Caleb Torres, and Charlie Miele earned First-Team honors, while sophomore Daniel Mahoney, senior Padraic Condon and senior Michael Marinello earned Second-Team accolades.
    • Men’s Track and Field: The Saints placed fourth at the Liberty League championships, led by junior Nick Lyndaker, who was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet. Lyndaker earned the honor with two dominant individual victories, taking first in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:54.85 and claiming the 5000-meter title in 14:33.43. He now heads to the AARTFC championship.
    • Riding: Junior Harper Eskey was named the Region 2 High Point Rider for the third consecutive year, qualifying her for a spot in the Cacchione Cup High Point Rider competition this past weekend at the IHSA National Championships. She placed eighth overall.
    • Softball: The Saints wrapped up their regular season with back-to-back wins in non-conference play, beating SUNY Canton 12-1 and 10-1. Saints pitcher first-year Hannah Reardon threw a complete game with 10 strikeouts, earning Liberty League rookie of the week honors. They also finished their conference season with a DH loss at the hands of RPI, which locked them into fifth place and a date with the very same Engineers in the Liberty League tournament play-in game on Thursday morning. It’s the second consecutive tournament appearance for the Scarlet and Brown. 
    • Women’s Lacrosse:  Senior defender Brigette Gable earned Second-Team All-Liberty League honors, while senior midfielder Neve Ley and sophomore attack Jessica LaPlaca earned Third-Team accolades, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
    • 14th-Annual Athletics Golf Tournament: The St. Lawrence University Athletic Department annually hosts a golf tournament to benefit its goals and department mission. Join the St. Lawrence University athletic department for the 14th Annual Saints Athletics Golf Tournament on May 30, 2025.

    Saints Squash Dedicates Court to Enzo "ZoZo" Corigliano '22 

    This past Friday, members of the St. Lawrence University men's and women's squash teams were joined by University President Kathryn A. Morris and Senior Associate Vice President for Athletics Bob Durocher to honor the life and impact of Enzo Corigliano '22 as they dedicated a squash court in his honor.

    NCAA Championship Invites for Members of Men's XC; Winter Sports Underway

    Following their performances at the NCAA Mideast Regional on Saturday, Jackson Hamilton ’23, George David Gowdy ’23, and Timothy Boyce ’25 have earned invitations to the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.  Men's Soccer closed their 2021 season after falling 2-0 to Washington College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Football closed their 2021 season with a 41-6 win over Buffalo State on Saturday, while Men’s Squash beat Hobart 7-2 and Women's Squash defeated William Smith 6-3 in their respective season openers. The Saturday wins continued with Women’s Swimming and Diving topping William Smith 113-95 and Women’s Basketball beating SUNY Poly 74-48 after defeating SUNY Potsdam 68-60 in their season opener last week. Men’s Basketball kicked off their season with a 80-67 win against Alfred State College on Friday and a 69-65 overtime win against Alfred University on Saturday.

    Adirondack Adventures

    With the Adirondack Mountains close by, adventures are never far away! St. Lawrence's I-House and Outing Club recently teamed up to bring members of our international student community out to Cranberry Lake for a day of canoeing. Whether students were new or experienced paddlers, everyone enjoyed the mountain views, some campfire s’mores, and the chance to come together.
