Even though May isn't quite over, the Department of Math, Computer Science, and Statistics has had an incredible month, and we'd like to share some of our accomplishments and festivities:
St. Lawrence University has received a three-year, $287,061 grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to support its Comprehensive Care Network (CCN) Project. The project will use evidence-based approaches to improve the identification and treatment of at-risk students and expand access to services that address mental health, suicide prevention, and substance misuse.
St. Lawrence University has joined the University of Southern California Race and Equity Center’s Liberal Arts Colleges Racial Equity Leadership Alliance and will engage in the Center’s key projects alongside other leading liberal arts colleges and universities.
St. Lawrence University has received a $250,000 grant from the Fred L. Emerson Foundation in support of the University’s “Building Bright Futures in Data Science” project which will expand summer internship and research opportunities for St. Lawrence students in the rapidly growing field of data science, one of the University’s newest majors.
