  1. NSF Grant Supports St. Lawrence Climate Research

    St. Lawrence received three NSF grants this year. A professor and student will use a $78,872 grant to travel—twice—to the Arctic’s Bering Sea Region and study the traditional ecological knowledge of the Siberian Yupik tribe.

  2. National Award to Support SLU's Digital Art Collection

    St. Lawrence University will receive funding from a national organization that represents private colleges and universities to create and support a digital collection of art and images for both teaching and research.

    Construction is underway on the donor-funded Appleton Arena George W. Karpus ’68 Athletic Center with plans to open in September 2024. The project will be completed as phase two of the Appleton Arena project, and $11.3 million in gifts and pledges have been raised so far.

  4. Anthropology Prof., Students Exhume Skeletal Remains in Heuvelton

    When the Village of Heuvelton began a project to replace its existing water tower, construction crews stumbled onto something rather unexpected: skeletal remains. That’s when St. Lawrence University’s Mindy Pitre, associate professor of anthropology and J. Ansil Ramsay Professor of Public Health, received a call from the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
