Sylvia Vue
I am an assistant professor in the Performance and Communication Arts department at St. Lawrence University. As a professional and scholar in organizational communication I am interested examining communication rituals, their impact, and the dynamics of power and change within organization. I use intersectional perspectives to gain a more holistic understanding of the multifaceted role rituals have on organizations and the people who navigate those spaces. This interest stems from my experiences in higher education both as a former student and a student affairs professional, where my primary role was engaging, programming, and working with students from historically underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds.
I have taught classes on Public Speaking, Introduction to Communication Studies, Organizational Communication, Introduction to Argumentation and debate, and Professional Communication.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family, going on walks, crafting, watching Korean dramas, anime, and gaming.
