After arriving at St. Lawrence for her first year, Berenice Gervacio '25 didn't waste any time starting to explore her career interests and embedding herself in her new community.
Gender and sexuality vary as a result of cultural, historical, political and institutional forces. Vibrant classrooms and personalized off-campus projects help students to analyze the complex ways in which personal identities and these larger societal structures interact, and to see how the social constructions of race, age, class, nation, ability and religion intersect in lived experiences and opportunities. Graduates are prepared for careers in a variety of fields, including medicine, social work, counseling; politics, and policy-making institutions; and education, film, and the arts.
