Ireland Lounge, Noble Center The Richard F. Brush Art Gallery and the English department are hosting “Dear North Country,” an in-person letter-writing event. The event is part of an international project called "Make Visible"–an ongoing, community-led project developed by New Zealand artist, curator, and activist Shannon Novak.
Men’s Track and Field: Junior Nick Lyndaker shattered the program record in the mile run at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday, posting a time of 4:03.36. His performance also set a new Liberty League record. Lyndaker now ranks third in NCAA Division III this season and 10th in Division III history in the event.
Men’s Basketball: The Saints swept the weekend with back-to-back victories, including a Senior Day win. On Friday, they defeated second-place Ithaca 68-61, with four players scoring in double figures. On Saturday, the team honored six seniors in a pre-game ceremony before dominating Union 74-50. The Saints head into next weekend’s road matchups with their playoff fate on the line.
Women’s Basketball: Junior Jackie Malley sealed a thrilling 59-56 victory over Union on Senior Day, sinking a game-winning and-one layup with one second remaining. Seniors Caelan McHarney and Nicole Jeffrey were recognized in a pre-game ceremony.
Women’s Tennis: The Saints opened their 2025 schedule in dominant fashion, earning back-to-back sweeps on Saturday against Saint Michael’s and SUNY Oneonta.
Men’s Hockey: The Skating Saints rallied in the final minute of regulation to force overtime, where senior Greg Lapointe netted the game-winner in a 3-2 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday. Sophomore Gunnar Thoreson, Lapointe, and sophomore Jan Olenginski each tallied a goal in the win.
Women’s Hockey: Six different Saints found the back of the net in a commanding road win over Harvard on Saturday. The No. 7-ranked Saints conclude the regular season with this victory and now turn their focus to the ECAC Hockey Playoffs as the third seed, securing a first-round bye.
Nordic Skiing: On Day 2 of the Middlebury Carnival, senior Emma Strack earned her third top-five finish of the season. She placed fifth in the women’s 10K classic, finishing in 29:21.9.
Alpine Skiing: The men’s team recorded its second top-five result of the season on Day 2 of the Middlebury Carnival. Senior Kobe Villeneuve led the Saints with a seventh-place finish, while sophomore Charlie Welch and first-year Kaiden Villeneuve achieved career-best finishes, placing ninth and 17th, respectively.
Last week, sophomores and juniors connected with our nationally recognized alumni network members during Saints Accelerate, an interactive career development program designed to help students build confidence, strengthen networking skills, and explore career paths. Students gained new insights, valuable connections, and a stronger sense of direction for the future while building networking confidence and exploring possible career paths. On February 11, President Morris informed the Laurentian community about the passing of Professor Emerita of Sociology Patrice Elaine Patterson LeClerc. Patrice was a beloved faculty member from 1995 until her retirement in 2013, during which time she enriched the academic community at St. Lawrence through her teaching, research, and dedication to her students.
