Promoting and assessing fair and effective student participation

Student participation in our classes is a key condition of student success.  However, the kind of participation we need is not merely speaking up regularly, and privileging only this kind of participation can be inequitable.  Join Dr. Alanna Gillis (Sociology) for a discussion of her award-winning work on how to involve students in participation goal setting to create more equitable, and more effective, ways of promoting and assessing student participation.
