Whether we're close to campus in the Adirondack Mountains or far away on our widely-recognized Kenya Semester Program, we dedicate ourselves to offering a vibrant experience that transforms students, communities, and the world.
"At the conclusion of the Kenya Semester Program, there's a one-month independent study component with organizations and businesses of our choosing within Eastern Africa. Personally, this was one of my favorite parts of the semester. I was able to travel to Jinja, Uganda with four other SLU students. Another student and I worked with an NGO called Soft Power Health (SPH), which administers healthcare and provides education to rural areas where local communities lack access to clinics or accurate information on local public health issues... SPH educates communities on each of these topics. It was fascinating and immensely beneficial to see the impact of SPH and the importance of education in rural areas." - Alessandra Uriarte '21
