Saints Fall Sports in Full SwingThe fall sports season is well underway as Saints women's soccer shut out the competition this weekend with a 1-0 win over Colby-Sawyer and a 7-0 win over SUNY Potsdam. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Emma Palumbo '25 and Timmy Boyce '25 each won the Cardinal Classic 5K during the men's and women's cross country meet in Plattsburgh, and Jimmy King '26 claimed the individual title for Saints men's golf while the 'A' team secured a win to open the season. First-year Molly Jespersen secured the 'B' Flight Singles title during the opening weekend for the women's tennis team while Jenny L'Hommedieu 23 scored her first goal of the season to lead the field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Oneonta. An Evening With Adia VictoriaSt. Lawrence University and the Ken Okoth '01 Black American Music Project will welcome Adia Victoria to campus for an evening concert on Friday, September 26, at 7 p.m. in the Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall. The event is free, open to the public, and will be livestreamed. |
Saints Secure Wins, Earn Liberty League HonorsMen’s Soccer: The men's soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 derby victory over SUNY Canton. Junior Dennis Argueta and first-year Sammy Bothwell scored, while first-year goalie Zach Amato secured the shutout. Women’s Soccer: The women's soccer team rallied with two second-half goals to defeat Oswego State 2-1 on the road. The win improved their season record to 2-1-2. Men’s Cross-Country: Seniors Nick Lyndaker, Patrick Russell, and Griffin Roeder swept the top three spots at the Hamilton Short Course, leading the men's cross-country team to its second straight win of the season. Lyndaker was just four second shy of his personal best in the 5k, and won Liberty League Runner of the Week honors. Men’s Tennis: First-year Josh David made a strong debut at the SLU Fall Classic, reaching the A singles semifinals and earning Liberty League Rookie of the Week. He also teamed up with his brother and junior Jake David in doubles, winning their first match. Football: Senior Ryan Surhoff led the football team’s defense in a close loss to St. John Fisher, recording five tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, and a quarterback hurry. He was named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week. Women’s Tennis: Senior Maya Stepic and sophomore Kate Butler won the B doubles consolation final at the Mary Hosking Invitational. In A doubles, seniors Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and Molly Jespersen reached the final but fell 6-3. Women’s Golf: Sophomore Sadie Cumming won the individual title and led the women's golf team to a first-place finish at the SUNY Poly Invitational. She shot four birdies and finished with a 74, one over par. Women’s Cross-Country: Junior Charlotte Blake finished second overall at the Hamilton Short Course Invitational, helping the women's cross-country team to a third-place finish in the four-kilometer race. Saints Celebrate Milestones, Earn WinsLegends of Appleton/Men’s Hockey Centennial: The Saints men’s hockey program celebrates its 100th Anniversary and the 2025 Legends Weekend on November 14-15. Join us in Canton as we honor the legacy of Saints hockey and induct Tom O'Connor '75 and Ray Shero '84 into the Legends of Appleton. Click here for more information. Men’s Soccer: Junior defender Baker Diaz earned All-Liberty League First Team honors. Seniors Ryan Campbell and Jeremy Ogango made the Second Team, and juniors Nicholas Petrone and Gustav Scheibler were named to the Third Team. The Saints placed sixth and qualified for the Liberty League tournament. Women’s Squash: First-year Eboni Atherley was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week after helping the Saints open their season with a 7-0 sweep over Chatham on the road. Women’s Soccer: Seniors Madison King-Thurber and Meredith Donahue earned All-Liberty League Second Team honors, while junior defender Chloe Bourque made the Third Team. Men’s Swimming and Diving: The Saints defeated Bard 100-40, taking first in every event entered. First-year Logan Doody won three events. Women’s Swimming and Diving: St. Lawrence rolled to a 148-31 win over Bard, sweeping all events at Augsbury Pool. Junior Gracie Ringer earned two first-place finishes. Football: Senior running-back William Murray scored twice as the Saints held off Buffalo State 24-19. Senior Will Lederman passed for 258 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Cole Phelan caught four passes for 113 yards. Senior kicker Clayton Fogler was named Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Week. Women’s Hockey: Graduate student Alexa Davis scored the game-winner and senior Emma-Sofie Nordström made 45 saves in a 1-0 shutout win over Princeton.
