Saints Secure Wins to Kick Off the Fall SeasonSaints Men’s Golf secured its first win of the season with a combined score of 602 at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course, marking the first victory for first-year Head Coach Dave Clausen at St. Lawrence. Gabe Ward ’27 finished as the tournament runner-up with a combined score of 147, earning him the Saints Athlete of the Week honors. Mary Grace McCann ’25 led the women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the St. Lawrence Invitational, placing third individually with a combined score of 157 (77, 80). Sadie Cumming ’28 also performed well, finishing 11th with a score of 169 (84, 85) in her collegiate debut. The winning streak for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Nick Lyndaker '26 secured a first-place finish at the Plattsburgh 5K, with a time of 16:11.4, propelling the Saints Men’s Cross Country team to the top of the leaderboard. Avery Blanchard ’28 led the women’s cross country team to a first-place finish with a time of 19:28.0 while Charlotte Blake ’27 and Adriana Cecchetelli ’26 followed closely, finishing in second (19:50.8) and third (20:02.1), respectively. At the Mary Hosking Invitational, Molly Jespersen ’26 advanced to the A draw final for Saints Women’s Tennis. She defeated RIT 8-6 in the semifinal match before falling to the University of Rochester. Saints Field Hockey will celebrate its 50th anniversary with alumni and friends during the home opener on Saturday, September 7, at 7 p.m. against SUNY Oswego. Throughout this week, Health Services will host walk-in COVID-19 testing clinics for symptomatic students or students with a recent known COVID-19 exposure. Clinics will be held Monday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 3, from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Diana B. Torrey '82 Health and Counseling Center. These clinics are in addition to the University's weekly testing clinics, which are held for unvaccinated campus community members and also open to any asymptomatic student, faculty, and staff member. Weekly testing clinics take place Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in Eben Holden. |

NCAA Personal Bests for Men's XC; Winter Sports ContinueThe Saints had much to celebrate the first weekend of break! Three members of the men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, where Jackson Hamilton ’23 and George Gowdy ’23 each set personal best times. The women’s basketball team defeated SUNY Plattsburgh 83-41, Williams College 65-64, and Hamilton 72-68, while the men's squad beat SUNY Plattsburgh 85-70 and SUNY Potsdam 70-61. The riding team won its second home show of the year at the St. Lawrence Show. The wins continued at the outset of break with Men’s Squash defeating both Haverford and Middlebury 8-1 and Women’s Squash sweeping Haverford 9-0, while Women’s Ice Hockey beat Brown 2-1 and RIT 5-1 and Men’s Ice Hockey secured a 6-4 win over Princeton.
