    On and Off Capitol Hill, Students Practice High-Impact Careers Through D.C. Internships

    Every year, Laurentians headed for summer internships in Washington D.C. pack their best business attire, prepare to navigate the Metro system, and tap their networks to find temporary housing in our nation’s capital city. Many of these students got their first taste of living and working in D.C. while on a SLU Connect networking trip earlier in the year.

    St. Lawrence Board Elects First Woman Chair; Welcomes New Vice Chairs

    The St. Lawrence University Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome new members and announce Jennifer Curley Reichert '90 as the first woman to be elected chair in its 167-year history.

    PCA Department Launches Campus-Wide Public Speaking Contest

    The Public Speaking Contest is an opportunity for students to show off their verbal communication abilities with the possibility of earning a cash prize. Participants will give extemporaneous speeches from any class on any topic, demonstrating that communication skills are essential across disciplines.

    Laurentian Wins!

    This past week women’s volleyball earned victories in both Friday contests, with Vivian Zymeck ’23 leading the way offensively to two 3-1 wins over both Bard College and SUNY Canton. Men's soccer beat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a 1-0 game with Ben Woelfinger ’23 gaining his fifth career shutout. Finally, men's football stunned Castleton during Laurentian Weekend with a 28-0 victory.

    Marking the start of a new academic year, faculty, staff, and university personnel gathered to celebrate the contributions of all members of the St. Lawrence community. The University recognized faculty who earned tenure and promotions during the annual Convocation and honored several employees with awards for their outstanding service. The ceremony was held outside the Herring-Cole Grove in the Enchanted Forest on Wednesday, August 23.
