COVID-19 Booster Clinic 

In accordance with public health recommendations, a COVID-19 vaccination booster is required for all St. Lawrence University students and employees within 30 days of becoming eligible. A free booster clinic will be offered Thursday, February 24 at the SUNY Canton campus. Register for the booster clinic.

Sophomore to Compete in 2022 Winter Paralympic Games

Sydney Peterson '24, a neuroscience major and member of Saints Nordic ski team, will represent Team U.S.A. as she competes for gold in Para Nordic Skiing at the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. Read her story. 

Former Saints Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey Coach to be Honored with IWLCA Hall of Fame Induction

Longtime St. Lawrence women's lacrosse and field hockey coach Dotty Hall will be enshrined in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame in November. Hall was one of the most successful coaches in the history of Saints women's athletics with a combined win total of 306 victories in field hockey and lacrosse. Read her story. 

Saints Head to Liberty League Championships; Swim Program Records Shattered

The men’s and women’s track and field teams are headed to the Liberty League Championships after winning the SLU Open against SUNY Plattsburgh, Utica, Vermont, Mohawk Valley, and SUNY Potsdam last weekend. During the Liberty League Championships in Ithaca, the women's swimming and diving team shattered program records in the 800 freestyle relay and 4x400 freestyle as Maggie Wenger '24 set a new 100 freestyle program record. Over the weekend, men’s basketball defeated Union 81-62 to secure a first-round playoff game after topping Skidmore 65-64 and women’s basketball beat Skidmore 76-45 to secure their 20th win of the season. Men’s ice hockey defeated Cornell 2-1 in an overtime contest on Friday while women’s ice hockey skated to a 3-3 tie with Harvard last week and men’s tennis beat SUNY Oneonta 8-1 on Saturday. Men’s squash defeated Middlebury 7-2 in the quarterfinal matchup of the Summers Cup at the CSA Nationals but fell to No. 5 seeded Tufts in the Semifinal matchup.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores. Random Acts of Kindness

Every year, the St. Lawrence community comes together and finds small ways to bring smiles to members of the North Country. Conversation, Contemplation, and Transformation 

The St. Lawrence community recently came together in recognition of Diversity and Inclusion Week by focusing on fostering conversation, reflecting on identity, and celebrating many aspects of intersectionality and diversity. The week-long celebration featured acclaimed musician and race relations activist Daryl Davis and Buffalo State College Historian Steve Peraza ’06, who has done extensive research into the life and legacy of 1933 St. Lawrence alum Jeffrey Worthington Campbell. Saints Secure Titles, Kick Off Spring Seasons

During the CSA Individual Nationals Saints men's squash player Lewis Anderson '25 secured the Molloy East division title.  The sophomore started the title match strong, winning the opening game 11-7, leveling the second 1-1, and dominating 11-4, 11-5 to secure the title. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with several Saints kicking off the spring season as men's lacrosse beat SUNY Potsdam 19-8 and women's tennis swept SUNY Geneseo 9-0. During the AARTFC Regional meet, Alli Sibold '22 won the mile and several Saints secured personal best times. After a high-stakes matchup, men's basketball concluded its season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament against the University of Mary Washington. Skating Saints Charles W. Appleton II head coach Brent Brekke has been named a finalist for ECAC Hockey's Coach of the Year Award. The winner of the award will be announced on Thursday, March 16. Ashlee Downing-Duke Receives Champion of Diversity and Inclusion Award

During the annual College Student Personnel Association of New York State, Inc. (CSPA-NYS) Conference, Ashlee Downing-Duke, senior associate director of campus activities & residential engagement, received the Champion of Diversity and Inclusion Award. Presented to an individual or group that demonstrates competency and commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education, the award recognizes promotion of cultural awareness through education, celebration, open dialogue, and advocacy.

Happy Birthday, Owen D. Young

Sunday, October 27th marks Owen D. Young’s 150th birthday. The main University library, named in his honor, reflects Young's life of work for St. Lawrence and his love of books. To celebrate his birthday and learn about his legacy, Laurentians are encouraged to explore the campus space that bears his name. 

Saints Shut Out the Competition and Break Records

Men’s Soccer—The team went 1-0-1 this weekend, including an impressive draw in a wild second half against No. 10 nationally ranked Vassar. The Brewers, ranked first in the Liberty League, held a 3-1 lead before sophomore Henry Brown’s brace led a furious St. Lawrence comeback. That resulted in a 3-3 draw Friday. The Saints then downed Bard 4-1. They are currently 6-2-4 on the year and 3-0-3 in conference play, good enough for second overall.

Women’s Hockey—Senior Abby Hustler tallied a goal and three assists, while four other Saints scored, as the then seventh-ranked women's hockey team had a 5-0 shutout win over Vermont Saturday afternoon in Burlington. That led the Saints to a split of the weekend, and they advanced to sixth overall in the USCHO poll.

Men’s Cross Country—Junior Nick Lyndaker's historic fourth-place finish at the Conn College Invitational helped the men's cross country team achieve an eighth-place finish among a field of 35 teams. Lyndaker's time of 24:20.0 at the 8 kilometer race is the fastest time recorded by a Saint since 2011, and is the fastest time on record for any men’s cross country athlete at a non-NCAA event.

Men’s Hockey—The team also split their weekend, with their victory coming over Ferris State in emphatic fashion. They took an 8-0 victory Saturday. Senior Greg Lapointe led the way with a hat trick and a pair of assists for five points, while seniors Mason Waite (1-3-4), and Tomáš Mazura (0-4-4) each tallied four points. Sophomore Mason Kucenski earned his first career shutout in the win stopping all 30 shots he faced. Waite and Kucenski received nods for ECAC Hockey Defender of the Week, and MAC Goaltending Goaltender of the Week respectively.

Women’s Soccer—Sophomore Zoe Rogan led the way with two goals and an assist, while senior Grace Mochnal tacked on a goal and an assist as women's soccer defeated Bard 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Annandale-on-Hudson, moving to 6-6-1 on the season.

Exploring Forensic Anthropology with Professor Pitre

Associate Professor and Chair of Anthropology Mindy Pitre and her students recently excavated artificial skeletal remains during their hands-on Forensic Anthropology class. This simulation allowed them to gain experience in recovering, identifying, and analyzing human remains, simulating a real-world scenario like a mass disaster site or a human rights investigation. On Wednesday, November 30 President Morris sent a message to the community about the passing of Winifred "Win" Gulick GP’13.  As the wife of former University President W. Lawrence “Lawry” Gulick, Win made an indelible impact on this campus. Read the message.

Weekend Victories for the Saints

Over the weekend, Skating Saints forward Greg Lapointe '25 scored a hat trick for a four-goal weekend as three other Saints tallied double-digit points during a 5-4 victory over Princeton University. The wins continued with Maggie Wenger winning 100 and 200 freestyles in a loaded Don Richards Swim Invite at RIT.  During the Saints Track and Field Holiday Relays, the women's team won the distance medley relay while the men's team won six events to capture the team title in the season opener. Women's basketball secured a 58-50 victory over Union and  men's basketball defeated Union 74-69 as women's ice hockey skated to a 4-2 victory over Dartmouth.
