    2022 Kathryn Fraser Mackay Memorial Lecture with guest, Dr. Anthony Pinn

    - Sykes Commons Anthony B. Pinn received his BA from Columbia University, Master of Divinity, and Ph.D. in the study of religion from Harvard University. His research interests include religion and culture; humanism; and hip-hop culture. Pinn is the author/editor of over 35 books, including "Terror and Triumph: The Nature of Black Religion" and "The New Disciples."

    World Premiere of How Did We Get Here? An American Phenomenon

    - Gulick Theatre, Noble Center "How Did We Get Here?" is a collection of stories of Black people who display the racial wealth gap through their experiences living in New York City, Philadelphia, and Trenton. The film is created by Sid Spencer '22 and Kaleb Davis '22.

    Saints Dominate Spring Break Competitions

    The scarlet and brown dominated their spring break competitions as Saints baseball secured wins over Fredonia (15-4), Hamilton (4-2),  Muhlenberg (21-6), and Thomas College (5-4, 6-1) while softball defeated Franklin & Marshall (10-3, 5-3) and Utica (2-6, 4-3). Women’s lacrosse topped Rochester 19-7 in the Liberty League opener after defeating Brockport 15-12 and Plattsburgh 18-7 while men’s lacrosse beat SUNY Cortland 14-8 and Western New England University 12-10. Men’s tennis defeated Bethel 7-2 after securing an 8-1 win over St. Scholastica at the UTSA National Campus while women’s tennis dominated New Paltz 8-1 after beating St. Scholastica 6-3. Women's swimming and diving's Maggie Wenger ’24 competed in several events at the NCAA Championships as Esports secured a 1-0 win over the University of Ottawa in a NACA Conference matchup. Women’s ice hockey’s Lucy Morgan ’23 was named a CCM/AHCA All-American for the 2021-22 season, Sanna Koivumäki ’22 of the women’s squash team has been selected to compete for her home country of Finland in the 2022 European Team Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and Lewis Anderson ’25 was named Second Team All-American by the College Squash Association. For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

    In accordance with public health recommendations, a COVID-19 vaccination booster is required for all St. Lawrence University students and employees within 30 days of becoming eligible. A free booster clinic will be offered Thursday, February 24 at the SUNY Canton campus. Register for the booster clinic.

    - Zoom Directed by Andreas Hartmann, this film follows a young Burmese punk as he travels across the country to promote his philosophy- a symbiosis of Buddhism and punk that rejects religious dictates and political doctrine in the former military dictatorship of Myanmar.     Former Saints Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey Coach to be Honored with IWLCA Hall of Fame Induction

    Longtime St. Lawrence women's lacrosse and field hockey coach Dotty Hall will be enshrined in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Hall of Fame in November. Hall was one of the most successful coaches in the history of Saints women's athletics with a combined win total of 306 victories in field hockey and lacrosse. Read her story

    Saints Head to Liberty League Championships; Swim Program Records Shattered

    The men’s and women’s track and field teams are headed to the Liberty League Championships after winning the SLU Open against SUNY Plattsburgh, Utica, Vermont, Mohawk Valley, and SUNY Potsdam last weekend. During the Liberty League Championships in Ithaca, the women's swimming and diving team shattered program records in the 800 freestyle relay and 4x400 freestyle as Maggie Wenger '24 set a new 100 freestyle program record. Over the weekend, men’s basketball defeated Union 81-62 to secure a first-round playoff game after topping Skidmore 65-64 and women’s basketball beat Skidmore 76-45 to secure their 20th win of the season. Men’s ice hockey defeated Cornell 2-1 in an overtime contest on Friday while women’s ice hockey skated to a 3-3 tie with Harvard last week and men’s tennis beat SUNY Oneonta 8-1 on Saturday. Men’s squash defeated Middlebury 7-2 in the quarterfinal matchup of the Summers Cup at the CSA Nationals but fell to No. 5 seeded Tufts in the Semifinal matchup.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores.     Every year, the St. Lawrence community comes together and finds small ways to bring smiles to members of the North Country.     St. Lawrence Named a 2023 Best Value College by The Princeton Review

    Students seeking a great education with excellent career preparation and return on investment will find St. Lawrence University among a select group named to The Princeton Review’s list of “Best Value Colleges” for 2023. The popular rankings publication narrowed down the list to 209 institutions from a total of over 650 surveyed.

    Saints Wrap Spring Seasons, Head to Liberty Leagues

    It was a great weekend to rep the Scarlet and Brown! Saints men's and women's track and field teams each won the Intercollegiate Athletics Twilight Meet on Saturday to wrap up the regular season before heading to the league championships. The victories for the Saints continued with women's tennis heading to the semi-finals after beating Ithaca 5-4,  and women's lacrosse set to compete in the first round of the Liberty League tournament after defeating RIT 11-10  after dominating Nazareth 21-8 last week. Softball defeated Union 5-4  while baseball topped Clarkson 13-11 and 2-0 after defeating SUNY Plattsburgh 9-1 last week. For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

    Saints Celebrate Wins; Winter Sports Continue

    Men's Squash swept the competition to secure 5-4 wins over Bowdoin, Colby, and Bates while Women’s Squash dominated Colby 8-1. The weekend wins continued with Women’s Swimming and Diving securing their fifth straight dual meet victory over Utica as Women’s Ice Hockey defeated Dartmouth 6-2 to celebrate their fourth straight win. Men’s Basketball defeated Vassar 51-50 after topping Canton 76-53 last week while Women's Basketball topped Bard in both match-ups (68-49 and 72-56). Men’s Ice Hockey skated to a 4-4 tie against Clarkson. During the Lake Placid Super Tour, Leif Harvey '25, Lilli Thomas '25, and Emma Strack '25 posted top finishes for Saints Nordic Skiing while Kathleen Merchant ’22, Jackson Hamilton ’23, and Timothy Boyce ’25 won their respective events at the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Middlebury Invitationals.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores.     Class of 2020 Celebrated at Commencement

    ​​​​​​​It was 442 days in the making, but members of St. Lawrence University’s Class of 2020 were finally able to come back together for the first time since March 2020 for their long-awaited commencement ceremony. ​​​​​​​More than 350 graduates returned to campus for the ceremony held on Sunday, August 1, in Newell Field House, with nearly 1,000 people in attendance.

    - Online voting event It’s that time of the year again! Voting is now open for the images presented by my students in biology 392, Research Methods in Fluorescence and Confocal Microscopy. Voting will close on the 14th at noon.

    Skating Saints Sweep Weekend 

    It was a great weekend to be a Saint! Men's ice hockey swept the competition with a 4-0 win over Brown University on Saturday after skating to a 2-1 win over Yale University on Friday.     St. Lawrence Prepares Students for the Peace Corps and More

    Eleven graduating seniors were recently honored with Peace Corps Prep cords, signaling their hard work and dedication to global service—a distinction recognized by the U.S. Department of State Peace Corps. St. Lawrence is one of only six institutions in New York State to offer the program.
