    A Culture Is Not a Costume is based on Understanding the Differences Between Cultural Appropriation and Cultural Appreciation, a traveling exhibition organized by the Akwesasne Cultural Center, located twenty-five miles from Canton. Selected artworks from St. Lawrence University’s permanent collection are also included in the exhibition.

  3. Letter-Writing Event: “Dear North Country”

    The Richard F. Brush Art Gallery and the English department are hosting “Dear North Country,” an in-person letter-writing event. The event is part of an international project called "Make Visible"–an ongoing, community-led project developed by New Zealand artist, curator, and activist Shannon Novak.

  4. “Spotlight talk” by Dr. Chandreyi Basu

    Dr. Chandreyi Basu, associate professor of Art & Art History, will give a presentation on "Eight Manifestations of Guru Rinpoche," a Tibetan Buddhist thangka painting from St. Lawrence University’s permanent collection.

  5. Gallery talk with Brook Henkel and visiting artist Sven Sandberg

    Gallery talk presented in conjunction with the exhibitions "German Modernism: Sound and Vision" and "Sven Sandberg: Paintings", on display at the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery from February 19 to April 10, 2024. Brook Henkel holds the Ph.D. in Germanic languages from Columbia University and taught at Haverford College before joining St. Lawrence University in 2016. Visiting artist Sven Sandberg received an MFA from the National College of Art and Design in Dublin in 2016. He has exhibited primarily in Ireland and the United States.
