For over 50 years the Writers Series program at St. Lawrence University has welcomed all varieties of authors including Pulitzer Prize winners. This session we present Tessa Yang.

Tessa Yang’s debut story collection, The Runaway Restaurant, was published by 7.13 Books in 2022 and has been recommended by The Millions, Book Riot, and Tor.com. Her short fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, The Cincinnati Review, Foglifter, and Joyland, and her flash fiction “The Weatherman’s Heart” was included in the anthology Flash Fiction America (W.W. Norton 2023). Tessa received her MFA from Indiana University where she served as the Editor of Indiana Review. She now teaches classes on fiction, creative nonfiction, and literary editing at Hartwick College, where she is an assistant professor of Literature, Media, and Writing. A shark enthusiast, she is at work on a novel about a misunderstood sea monster.

Tessa is also a 2015 graduate of St. Lawrence University.
