"surreal vaudeville...One is reminded of silent film comedians and European circus clowns, who hone their material to its essence."
—The New Orleans Times-Picayune, David Cuthbert, Theatre Critic
This evening features a handful of theatre pieces, ranging from humorous and disarming to mesmerizing and disorienting, that arise as metaphors for social processes. Decidedly small, analogue, and acoustic and on a fine scale – these pieces are best seen in intimate settings where the seemingly impossibilities are live.
Originated by Lisa Fay and Jeff Glassman, and performed by Mark Enslin, Glassman and Fay.
A discussion with the artists follows the performance and a display of performance scores used in the creation of the work is featured in the lobby.
Seasoned experimental theatre artists Fay|Glassman Performance are originating, composing, and performing theatre artists known for applying complex formal structures to the narratives of daily life in order to raise radically effective questions that require deep social critique.
