Dare to Stand Out: Building Your Network, Your Way

- Hannon Room, Sullivan Student Center
General Event

Build a community for professional growth, explore your professional identity, and cultivate authenticity in your connections!

Led by Senior Assistant Director of Career Exploration Lizzy Girard ’17, with the support of Tri-Alpha and the First Gen Initiative, this interactive session will help you learn how to build a community for your professional growth (networking), explore your professional identity (personal brand) and tips on how to show up authentically while building professional connections (elevator pitch).

Through conversations and examples of the spoken and unspoken elements of networking, we will dispel myths about fostering community in career exploration, ‘address the awkward’ of communicating in this unique way, and allow students to practice in a low-stakes environment.

This fun, interactive session will empower you to explore what's possible!
