CIIS Annual Lecture Announcement with Kathleen Colson, '79

Empowering Global Change:

Harnessing Inspiration, Moral Outrage, and Social Entrepreneurship

An alumna of the Kenya Semester Program, Kathleen founded the Boma Project to disrupt how humanitarian aid is perceived and delivered in the drylands of Africa. With innovations in technology, programming, female empowerment, and financial inclusion, the non-profit’s mission is to end extreme poverty and hunger for millions of women and children in remote regions on the African continent. Join us to hear about Kathleen’s inspiring journey and to learn how to harness your own inspiration to engage with pressing issues at both the grassroots and global levels.  Following the program, faculty in the Area Studies, Global Studies, and Peace Corps programs will celebrate seniors by bestowing cords for graduation.

Thursday, April 25th at 4:30 p.m.,

Sykes Formal Lounge

The CIIS Annual Lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
