University-Wide Event

The Patti McGill Peterson Center for International and Intercultural Studies is pleased to invite Dr. Tom Greene, Professor of Psychology, to deliver this year’s CIIS Annual Lecture.

Born and raised in Wyoming, Dr. Greene has been an active member of the Laurentian community for 42 years. Dr. Greene pursued diverse interests throughout his undergraduate career at the University of Wyoming, including radio, broadcasting, anthropology, and geography. During his graduate work at Colorado State, Dr. Greene began studying the cutting-edge field of Environmental Psychology, researching outdoor recreation management, architectural color, landscape assessment, and museum studies.

After joining St. Lawrence University, he has left a significant physical mark on campus through his involvement in the planning process for new residence halls, informal student spaces, and the LEED-Gold Johnson Hall of Science. In addition to his active roles in the St. Lawrence and Canton community, Dr. Greene has worked closely with the Center for International and Intercultural Studies throughout the years, serving several terms as the Faculty Director of the London Semester Program and the London First-Year Program, as well as leading summer courses focused on London's iconic spaces and places. He has also been a long-time member of the CIIS Committee and Faculty Coordinator of the London Semester Program. As he prepares for his retirement, Dr. Greene will share remarks, insights, and reflections on his interdisciplinary career and the impact of international education.

Following Dr. Greene’s remarks, faculty in the Area Studies programs will celebrate seniors by bestowing cords for graduation.

Refreshments will be served.
