  2. Festival of Science, Scholarship and Creativity 2024

    St. Lawrence University buzzed with excitement on Friday, April 26, during the annual Festival of Science, Scholarship, and Creativity . Celebrating a campus-wide tradition that began in 2014, the day held an opportunity to learn from oral and poster presentations by 177 students about their research in a wide variety of fields and appreciate muscial and dance performances as well as the senior art exhibition.

    Welcome, St. Lawrence Class of 2027!

    St. Lawrence’s newest Laurentians should already feel immensely proud of themselves. From their high school achievements in the classroom and community, the members of the Class of 2027 bring passion and curiosity to their next great adventure in the North Country and enter St. Lawrence with the highest-ever cumulative GPA of 93. Forty-three percent graduated at the top of their class. They celebrated their Matriculation on Sunday, August 20, and are now poised to make their mark on St. Lawrence.

    St. Lawrence’s Friendly Students, Faculty, and Science Facilities Stand Out in The Princeton Review

    St. Lawrence University was named to The Princeton Review’s “Best 389 Colleges” list for 2024. Based solely on results from student surveys, the popular rankings publication once again recognized several exemplary aspects of co-curricular and academic life on campus.

    On Monday August 28, President Morris sent a message to the community sharing that Piskor Professor Emeritus of Sociology Stuart Lee Hills GP’16 died on August 2 at the age of 90. For more than two decades at St. Lawrence, he served as a devoted teacher and mentor, and was a prolific researcher in his discipline. Read the Message.

    Laurentians to Receive Honorary Degrees

    In recognition of their exemplary accomplishments and steadfast commitment to St. Lawrence University, President Emeritus William L. Fox. ’75, Lynn Smith Fox, and Grant H. Cornwell Jr. ’79 will be presented with honorary degrees during this year’s commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22.

    McNair Scholar Selected for National Science Foundation Fellowship

    Following a competitive nationwide search, Anuva Anannya ’22 has been selected for the 2022 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, making her the first St. Lawrence McNair Scholar to receive the prestigious award that will fund her research-based master's and doctoral degrees at an accredited U.S. institution of her choice.

    Lost and Found: A&AH Senior Year Exhibition

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery Celebrate members of the Class of 2022 during the final week of the "Lost and Found" is a Senior Year Experience exhibition. This collection of artwork focuses on self-discovery and self-reflection and that was created at the edge of the precipice before true adulthood and a transitory state that can be simultaneously confusing, frightening, and exciting.

    - Congratulations St. Lawrence Class of 2022! The St. Lawrence community will come together in a campus-wide celebration of the graduating class beginning Friday, May 20 through Sunday, May 22. A livestream of the commencement ceremony will begin Sunday, May 22 at 9:50 a.m.

    Saints Lacrosse End Seasons at NCAAs; Scarlet and Brown Earn All-League Honors

    After a record-breaking season and first NCAA appearance in over three decades, Saints Women’s Lacrosse concluded its spring season during a second-round matchup against Tufts. The No. 10 Saints Men’s Lacrosse defeated Cortland 15-14 in the second round of the NCAA tournament but fell to Bowdin in the third round. This week, the men’s and women’s track and field teams will head to Pennsylvania to compete in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference. In recognition of their stellar spring sports performances, several members of the Scarlet and Brown earned All-League Honors. For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

    Spring Student-Athletes Earn Liberty League All-Academic Honors

    A total of 109 St. Lawrence spring sport student-athletes earned Liberty League All-Academic honors, recognizing their all-star performances in the classroom. To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic Team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30.

    Richard F. Brush Art Gallery to Present Wool and Water Exhibition

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery Explore the Wool and Water exhibition on display at the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery until April 12. The exhibition is a collaborative data-art project that blends fiber art with scientific information to create visual representations of changing water quality conditions in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains and neighboring Lake Champlain Basin.

    Saints Basketball, Your Liberty League Champions!

    It was an electric Sunday afternoon in Burkman as the Saints men’s basketball team dominated RPI 50-42 in overtime to secure the Liberty League championship. In a standing-room-only crowd, the Scarlet and Brown extended their winning streak to eight and improve to 19-7 after defeating Hobart 80-78 in the semifinals on Friday. The Saints will go on to compete in the NCAA tournament. The weekend wins continued with men's ice hockey shutting out Dartmouth 2-0 at Appleton to secure the fourth seed in the ECAC Tournament while women's hockey beat Quinnipiac 3-2 to conclude its season. Men's squash defeated Middlebury and MIT 5-4 during the Semifinal round of the Summers Cup at the CSA Team Nationals while Erik Geier '23 defended his Liberty League title in the 60-meter hurdles and broke a decade-old school record during the championship meet in Rochester. In recognition of their excellence in the classroom, several winter sport student-athletes earned Liberty League All-Academic honors.     SLU Connect—Washington, D.C. linked dozens of alumni, parents, and friends with students to network and explore different career opportunities in the D.C. area. Students attended a panel discussion at the U.S. Department of State, toured sites including the Capitol Building and World Bank, participated in roundtable discussions with industry experts, and much more!
