Saints Fall Sports in Full SwingThe fall sports season is well underway as Saints women's soccer shut out the competition this weekend with a 1-0 win over Colby-Sawyer and a 7-0 win over SUNY Potsdam. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Emma Palumbo '25 and Timmy Boyce '25 each won the Cardinal Classic 5K during the men's and women's cross country meet in Plattsburgh, and Jimmy King '26 claimed the individual title for Saints men's golf while the 'A' team secured a win to open the season. First-year Molly Jespersen secured the 'B' Flight Singles title during the opening weekend for the women's tennis team while Jenny L'Hommedieu 23 scored her first goal of the season to lead the field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Oneonta. Throughout this week, Health Services will host walk-in COVID-19 testing clinics for symptomatic students or students with a recent known COVID-19 exposure. Clinics will be held Monday, Nov. 29, through Friday, Dec. 3, from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the Diana B. Torrey '82 Health and Counseling Center. These clinics are in addition to the University's weekly testing clinics, which are held for unvaccinated campus community members and also open to any asymptomatic student, faculty, and staff member. Weekly testing clinics take place Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in Eben Holden. |

NCAA Personal Bests for Men's XC; Winter Sports ContinueThe Saints had much to celebrate the first weekend of break! Three members of the men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, where Jackson Hamilton ’23 and George Gowdy ’23 each set personal best times. The women’s basketball team defeated SUNY Plattsburgh 83-41, Williams College 65-64, and Hamilton 72-68, while the men's squad beat SUNY Plattsburgh 85-70 and SUNY Potsdam 70-61. The riding team won its second home show of the year at the St. Lawrence Show. The wins continued at the outset of break with Men’s Squash defeating both Haverford and Middlebury 8-1 and Women’s Squash sweeping Haverford 9-0, while Women’s Ice Hockey beat Brown 2-1 and RIT 5-1 and Men’s Ice Hockey secured a 6-4 win over Princeton. Saints Secure Wins to Kick Off the Fall SeasonSaints Men’s Golf secured its first win of the season with a combined score of 602 at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course, marking the first victory for first-year Head Coach Dave Clausen at St. Lawrence. Gabe Ward ’27 finished as the tournament runner-up with a combined score of 147, earning him the Saints Athlete of the Week honors. Mary Grace McCann ’25 led the women’s golf team to a fourth-place finish at the St. Lawrence Invitational, placing third individually with a combined score of 157 (77, 80). Sadie Cumming ’28 also performed well, finishing 11th with a score of 169 (84, 85) in her collegiate debut. The winning streak for the Scarlet and Brown continued as Nick Lyndaker '26 secured a first-place finish at the Plattsburgh 5K, with a time of 16:11.4, propelling the Saints Men’s Cross Country team to the top of the leaderboard. Avery Blanchard ’28 led the women’s cross country team to a first-place finish with a time of 19:28.0 while Charlotte Blake ’27 and Adriana Cecchetelli ’26 followed closely, finishing in second (19:50.8) and third (20:02.1), respectively. At the Mary Hosking Invitational, Molly Jespersen ’26 advanced to the A draw final for Saints Women’s Tennis. She defeated RIT 8-6 in the semifinal match before falling to the University of Rochester. Saints Field Hockey will celebrate its 50th anniversary with alumni and friends during the home opener on Saturday, September 7, at 7 p.m. against SUNY Oswego. Wenger '24 Shatters Swim Record; Winter Sports ContinueMaggie Wenger ’24 broke a 1978 St. Lawrence program record when she won the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.92) during the six-team Don Richards Swimming and Diving Invitational at RIT on Saturday. Over the weekend, Men’s Squash swept Colgate, Hamilton, and Wesleyan 9-0 while Women’s Squash defeated Colgate 8-1 and Hamilton 6-3. Men’s Hockey defeated Colgate 4-3 at Appleton Arena while Women's Track and Field opened their season by taking home the team title at the Holiday Relays and Men's Track and Field secured five event wins at the five-team meet. After defeating Union 62-58 in their conference opener, Women’s Basketball defeated Skidmore 73-62 while Men’s Basketball edged Skidmore 58-57 in a close Liberty League contest. |

An Evening With Adia VictoriaSt. Lawrence University and the Ken Okoth '01 Black American Music Project will welcome Adia Victoria to campus for an evening concert on Friday, September 26, at 7 p.m. in the Peterson-Kermani Performance Hall. The event is free, open to the public, and will be livestreamed. |
Saints Secure Wins, Earn Liberty League HonorsMen’s Soccer: The men's soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 derby victory over SUNY Canton. Junior Dennis Argueta and first-year Sammy Bothwell scored, while first-year goalie Zach Amato secured the shutout. Women’s Soccer: The women's soccer team rallied with two second-half goals to defeat Oswego State 2-1 on the road. The win improved their season record to 2-1-2. Men’s Cross-Country: Seniors Nick Lyndaker, Patrick Russell, and Griffin Roeder swept the top three spots at the Hamilton Short Course, leading the men's cross-country team to its second straight win of the season. Lyndaker was just four second shy of his personal best in the 5k, and won Liberty League Runner of the Week honors. Men’s Tennis: First-year Josh David made a strong debut at the SLU Fall Classic, reaching the A singles semifinals and earning Liberty League Rookie of the Week. He also teamed up with his brother and junior Jake David in doubles, winning their first match. Football: Senior Ryan Surhoff led the football team’s defense in a close loss to St. John Fisher, recording five tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception, and a quarterback hurry. He was named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week. Women’s Tennis: Senior Maya Stepic and sophomore Kate Butler won the B doubles consolation final at the Mary Hosking Invitational. In A doubles, seniors Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and Molly Jespersen reached the final but fell 6-3. Women’s Golf: Sophomore Sadie Cumming won the individual title and led the women's golf team to a first-place finish at the SUNY Poly Invitational. She shot four birdies and finished with a 74, one over par. Women’s Cross-Country: Junior Charlotte Blake finished second overall at the Hamilton Short Course Invitational, helping the women's cross-country team to a third-place finish in the four-kilometer race.
