    Nearly 140 first-year and sophomore students attended events hosted by the First-Year Program, Sophomore Success Initiative, and Academic Advising in recognition of earning a 3.75 GPA or higher during the Fall 2022 semester.

    Saints Baseball Sweeps Competition, Saints Spring Sports Continue

    Saints baseball swung into the spring season with a sweep–defeating Old Westbury 1-0 and 13-9 during the Russmatt Invitational in Florida. The wins for the Scarlet and Brown continued with Saints men's lacrosse dominating Bates 16-7 and the University of Lynchburg 14-5 at the Mustang Classic in Maryland, as the women's team secured a 14-11 win over University of Rochester at home. Saints esports shut out Bellarmine University 2-0 after defeating Brewton-Parker College 2-0 and Marist College 4-2  last week.  Skating Saints defenseman Luc Salem '24 was named a Second-Team All-ECAC Hockey selection and Abhisheka David '26 and Nick Lynadker '26 were named 2022-23 Liberty League rookies of the year in women's squash and men's indoor track and field.     Saints Inducted into Hall of Fame, Varsity 8 Victorious

    During Reunion 2023, several Saints were inducted into the Hall of Fame in recognition of their outstanding athletic careers. Saints Varsity 8 came in first place at the Petite Finals during the 2023 Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta after winning its first-ever Liberty League Championship and New York Championship in program history. Several Saints athletes and coaches earned Liberty League honors for the spring 2023 season.  For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.

    Breaking Ground for Future Saints

    During Reunion 2023, the St. Lawrence community celebrated a ceremonial groundbreaking for the Appleton Arena George W. Karpus ’68 Athletic Center named in honor of the lead donor whose generosity paved the way for this exciting project designed to strengthen the St. Lawrence experience for all student-athletes.     Welcome, St. Lawrence Class of 2027!

    St. Lawrence’s newest Laurentians should already feel immensely proud of themselves. From their high school achievements in the classroom and community, the members of the Class of 2027 bring passion and curiosity to their next great adventure in the North Country and enter St. Lawrence with the highest-ever cumulative GPA of 93. Forty-three percent graduated at the top of their class. They celebrated their Matriculation on Sunday, August 20, and are now poised to make their mark on St. Lawrence.

    St. Lawrence’s Friendly Students, Faculty, and Science Facilities Stand Out in The Princeton Review

    St. Lawrence University was named to The Princeton Review’s “Best 389 Colleges” list for 2024. Based solely on results from student surveys, the popular rankings publication once again recognized several exemplary aspects of co-curricular and academic life on campus.

    On Monday August 28, President Morris sent a message to the community sharing that Piskor Professor Emeritus of Sociology Stuart Lee Hills GP’16 died on August 2 at the age of 90.     SLU Connect Goes Coast to Coast

    During the spring semester, students attended SLU Connect programs in San Francisco and Boston where they connected with alumni industry experts in a variety of fields, including ocean exploration, energy solutions, commercial real estate, investment banking, transportation, and e-commerce. Over the span of four days, students were immersed in roundtable discussions, guided company tours, networking receptions, and so much more!     Saints Back in Action

    The athletic season is ramping up for the Scarlet and Brown! Women’s soccer started off strong with a 2-1 win over DeSales. An impressive race by both the men's and women’s cross country team resulted in both teams bringing home first place in their season-opening events. The women’s field hockey team defeated Oneonta taking a 3-2 lead in the first half, bringing home the win for the Saints! Women’s Tennis duo, Angelica Aksdal-Jansen and Molly Jespersen, claimed the A Flight Doubles while Ariane Karera won the B Flight Singles Final to highlight the team at the Mary Hosking Invitational.     Saints Back in Action for 2023

    The new year is off to a victorious start for the Scarlet and Brown! Over the weekend, the Saints dominated the competition as the women's ice hockey shut out Union 3-0 while the men's ice hockey defeated Dartmouth 3-2. During the Utica Winter Opener, Alli Sibold '24 won the 1,000 meters to lead the women's track and field team while Timmy Boyce '25 won the 1,000 for the men's team. The wins continued with men's basketball topping RPI 50-37, women's squash securing a 5-4 win over Bates, and men's squash beating Dickinson 7-2 on the road after defeating Bowdoin 7-2 earlier in the week.     Skating Saints Defeat Clarkson in Exhibition Contest; Fall Sports Continue 

    In their first game since the ECAC Championship, the men's ice hockey team defeated 19th ranked Clarkson 3 - 0 in an exhibition contest on Saturday at Cheel Arena. The Saturday wins continued with the field hockey team securing its first Liberty League win of the season by defeating RPI 2-1 at home.

    On Friday, the Esports Overwatch team topped Lackawanna 3-0 for their first win of the season while women's ice hockey defeated Syracuse  4-1 at Appleton.  Last week, Lillian Sullivan '23 and Caitlyn Avery '23 won their doubles and singles matches to lead women's tennis to a 7-2 win over SUNY Oneonta at home.
