    New Division III Athletics Facility Takes Shape

    Construction is underway on the donor-funded Appleton Arena George W. Karpus ’68 Athletic Center with plans to open in September 2024. The project will be completed as phase two of the Appleton Arena project, and $11.3 million in gifts and pledges have been raised so far.

    St. Lawrence Climbs Even Higher in The Princeton Review Rankings for Alumni Network, Internships, and Impact

    The Princeton Review named St. Lawrence to its list of “Best Value Colleges” for 2024, noting its high return on investment for students and recent grads. The University also ascended in several rankings categories, coming in at No. 2 on “Top 20 Best Private School Alumni Networks,” No. 5 on “Top 20 Best Private Schools for Internships,” and No. 9 on “Best Schools for Making an Impact.”

    Alumnus and Computer Science Professor Publish Research at International Conference

    A recent graduate’s honors project combining cybersecurity and autonomous vehicles was published in the proceedings of a top international cyber-physical systems conference.

    Exhibition: Change Is a More Accurate Measure of Time Photographs by Mark Klett, SLU class of 1974

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery This exhibition is presented in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Mark Klett’s graduation from St. Lawrence University in 1974. The show features 12 photographs from "El Camino del Diablo," a project based on a journey by a young mining engineer, Raphael Pumpelly, through Arizona and Mexico in 1861 on “the road of the devil.”

    Exhibition: Our Place in the Scheme of Things

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery This exhibition underscores the essential elements of the environment — water, air, earth — and their degradation caused by storms, fire, and drought often brought about by human pursuits. Photographs and videos on display reflect the relationship between the physical and metaphysical, serving as a spiritual, biophilic statement that highlights the environmental challenges that contemporary societies confront.

    SLU Connect Goes Coast to Coast

    During the spring semester, students attended SLU Connect programs in San Francisco and Boston where they connected with alumni industry experts in a variety of fields, including ocean exploration, energy solutions, commercial real estate, investment banking, transportation, and e-commerce. Over the span of four days, students were immersed in roundtable discussions, guided company tours, networking receptions, and so much more!     More than 500 members of St. Lawrence University’s Class of 2021 took part in the University’s Commencement, which celebrated the ways members of the graduating class have made the Laurentian community better while working toward a path that will ensure they leave their mark on the world. The event was held Sunday, April 18, in Newell Field House.

    Welcome, St. Lawrence Class of 2027!

    St. Lawrence’s newest Laurentians should already feel immensely proud of themselves. From their high school achievements in the classroom and community, the members of the Class of 2027 bring passion and curiosity to their next great adventure in the North Country and enter St. Lawrence with the highest-ever cumulative GPA of 93. Forty-three percent graduated at the top of their class. They celebrated their Matriculation on Sunday, August 20, and are now poised to make their mark on St. Lawrence.

    On Monday August 28, President Morris sent a message to the community sharing that Piskor Professor Emeritus of Sociology Stuart Lee Hills GP’16 died on August 2 at the age of 90. For more than two decades at St. Lawrence, he served as a devoted teacher and mentor, and was a prolific researcher in his discipline. Read the Message.
