    Saints Back in Action for 2023

    The new year is off to a victorious start for the Scarlet and Brown! Over the weekend, the Saints dominated the competition as the women's ice hockey shut out Union 3-0 while the men's ice hockey defeated Dartmouth 3-2. During the Utica Winter Opener, Alli Sibold '24 won the 1,000 meters to lead the women's track and field team while Timmy Boyce '25 won the 1,000 for the men's team. The wins continued with men's basketball topping RPI 50-37, women's squash securing a 5-4 win over Bates, and men's squash beating Dickinson 7-2 on the road after defeating Bowdoin 7-2 earlier in the week.     Masking Policy Update

    Academic Affairs and Student Life sent a message to the community on Thursday, March 24 announcing that due to the current declines in active COVID-19 cases on campus and throughout the county, the University face-mask requirement has changed for vaccinated individuals beginning Monday, March 28. Read the message and new masking guidelines.

    Track and Field Teams Win Ice Breaker Open; Spring Sports Continue

    The men’s and women’s track and field teams each won the Ice Breaker Open to kick off the outdoor season. The women’s team secured first place in nine events while the men’s team won eight events. Saints women’s lacrosse topped Ithaca College 17-16 while the baseball team defeated Vassar 9-8 and 6-5 and the softball team dominated SUNY Canton 8-0 and 7-3. First-year mid-distance runner Timothy Boyce was named the Liberty League Men’s Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year.     St. Lawrence Climbs Even Higher in The Princeton Review Rankings for Alumni Network, Internships, and Impact

    The Princeton Review named St. Lawrence to its list of “Best Value Colleges” for 2024, noting its high return on investment for students and recent grads. The University also ascended in several rankings categories, coming in at No. 2 on “Top 20 Best Private School Alumni Networks,” No. 5 on “Top 20 Best Private Schools for Internships,” and No. 9 on “Best Schools for Making an Impact.”

    St. Lawrence University Names Kim Robinson Hissong ’94 as Vice President of University Advancement

    St. Lawrence has named Kim Robinson Hissong ’94 its Vice President for University Advancement, President Kathryn A. Morris announced on June 6. Hissong, who has been leading the division in all fundraising and Laurentian engagement activities on an interim basis since last October, will immediately step into the permanent role.

    Two Selective Critical Language Scholarships Support Students’ Study of Arabic

    Miso Wilson ’24 and Elizabeth Wagar ’24 first studied abroad through St. Lawrence’s Center for International and Intercultural Studies (CIIS) during the Spring 2023 semester, when they enjoyed experiences living and learning in Jordan. As seniors they were each awarded the highly selective Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) through the U.S. Department of State, which provided support for them to participate in an immersive Arabic language program.

    ‘Shared Closet’ Concept Closes the Loop on Clothing Waste

    Close the Loop, a club dedicated to reducing textile waste on campus, started with Valeria Obregon Diaz ’24 and a couple of friends carrying some of their garments to the Student Center for a clothing swap. Two years later, it has more than 10 active members, manages the thrift store on campus, has hosted multiple clothing swaps, as well as sewing and mending workshops, and was named ‘Rookie of the Year’ at the student leadership awards ceremony.

    Recently in Athletics!

    Twenty-nine members of the 2023-24 St. Lawrence men's hockey team earned ECAC Hockey All-Academic honors, as announced by the league office. Logan Ritchie '24, a finalist for the ECAC Hockey Scholar-Athlete of the Year, was named the Saints' Commissioner's List honoree for the third straight season as the team's top scholar from the 2023-24 season.

    Eighteen members of 2023-24 St. Lawrence women's hockey garnered ECAC Hockey All-Academic honors. Junior forward Taylor Lum '25 was named the Saints' Commissioner's List honoree as the program's top scholar, boasting a 4.0 cumulative GPA, while majoring in Data Science.

    Judge Murphy '24 earned Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) All-America and First-Team All-Region honors, while Tripp Clark '24 earned a spot on the First Team and Caleb Torres '25, Paddy Condon '25 and Michael Marinello '25 garnered Second-Team honors.

    Twenty-three skiers from the St. Lawrence Alpine and Nordic ski teams were honored by the United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA) for having earned National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team honors for the 2024 season.

    Rebert and Lee Hall Renovations to Welcome Class of 2028! ❤️🤎

    It’s safe to say that Rebert and Lee Halls have never looked better, and just in time to welcome the Class of 2028 this fall!

    Check out the a sneak peek of the newly renovated lounges, student rooms, and bathrooms in Rebert south and east, as well as two main lounges in Lee. We’ve fully upgraded these areas with new fixtures and finishes, including dimmable LED lighting. This summer, we’re renovating the north wing of Rebert and the north wing and main entry of Lee, all thanks to funds from a $30 million campus facilities enhancement initiative taking place across campus.
