    Brenda Papineau Named St. Lawrence University's Director of Native American Affairs

    St. Lawrence University has named Brenda Papineau director of Native American Affairs. Papineau, a member of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe, graduated from St. Lawrence with a bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2002, a master’s in counseling and human development in 2006, and a master’s in educational leadership in 2015.

    For all of our alumni, the quest for evidence and answers doesn’t stop after Commencement. Some choose to make this activity a profession. You can find them in the field or the lab, using their talents to communicate the importance of their research and engage others in their work.

    Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Resource Fair

    - Lisa Mazzola Cania Alumni Council Room, Third Floor, Sullivan Student Center Resources designed to support faculty and staff in helping create and foster inclusive communities both inside and outside the classroom will be shared during this event.

    Each One Inspired: Haudenosaunee Art Across the Homelands from the New York State Museum

    - Richard F. Brush Art Gallery The St. Lawrence University Richard F. Brush Art Gallery will present an exhibition showcasing the artwork of 53 contemporary artworks by Haudenosaunee artists from all six Haudenosaunee Nations beginning Monday, Oct. 17 through Saturday, Dec. 10.

    Weekend Victories for the Saints

    Over the weekend, Skating Saints forward Greg Lapointe '25 scored a hat trick for a four-goal weekend as three other Saints tallied double-digit points during a 5-4 victory over Princeton University. The wins continued with Maggie Wenger winning 100 and 200 freestyles in a loaded Don Richards Swim Invite at RIT.  During the Saints Track and Field Holiday Relays, the women's team won the distance medley relay while the men's team won six events to capture the team title in the season opener. Women's basketball secured a 58-50 victory over Union and  men's basketball defeated Union 74-69 as women's ice hockey skated to a 4-2 victory over Dartmouth.     Kathryn A. Morris Inaugurated as St. Lawrence University’s 19th President

    St. Lawrence University celebrated the inauguration of Kathryn A. Morris as its 19th president at an installation ceremony held on campus Saturday, October 22. In her inaugural address, she outlined her vision for new initiatives to ensure the 166-year-old University continues to thrive while preparing students for lives of global impact far into the future.

    Substance Misuse Awareness Week

    - Campus Wide As part of National Substance Abuse Prevention Month, the JED committee, Seaway Valley, the Barista and other groups on campus will be hosting a variety of events to bring awareness about substance misuse and its role in people's lives. While most are student events, faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the Lunch and Learn and community resource tabling events.

    Men's soccer extended its 11-game unbeaten streak this week, knocking off Liberty League rival Skidmore 2-1. The Saints are now a point away from clinching the league title. Playing in the Ice Breaker Tournament in Lake Placid, women's hockey beat Holy Cross 2-1 before falling to Clarkson, 3-1, in the final. Volleyball went 2-1 over the weekend, and swimming and diving opened its season, with the women beating Clarkson. For up-to-date schedules, news, and scores visit SaintsAthletics.com.
