Here's We Go Saints!This past week the women's soccer team secured a 3-0 win against Utica University, while the women's hockey team celebrated a thrilling 2-1 victory over RIT. In the world of esports, St. Lawrence's League of Legends and Super Smash Bros teams showed their digital dominance with 2-0 wins against Howard Community College and Hood College, respectively. The women's swimming and diving team outperformed Clarkson University with a score of 170-103. Meanwhile, the men's soccer team had a resounding 4-0 win against Skidmore College on their home field. The Kenya Semester Program is Underway!Students in the Kenya Semester Program recently ventured out on the Amboseli component of their experience. For just under a week, they stayed at Sopa Lodge in Amboseli region—a national park spanning 394 square kilometers with a collection of six group ranches—sighting views of Mt. Kilimanjaro across the border in Tanzania. Each day consisted of different experiential learning activities like visiting the local village to interview farmers to roaming Amboseli National Park on safari, and so much more! Saints Can't Stop, Won't Stop Winning 🥇Women’s Hockey: First-year Rylan Haslam scored back-to-back goals in the third period to lift St. Lawrence to a 3-2 comeback win over Union on Saturday, completing a weekend sweep. The Saints also earned a 3-2 victory over RPI on Friday. Men’s Hockey: Sophomore Cayden Casey and first-years Sam LeDrew and Cooper Pierson each found the net as St. Lawrence defeated the University of Toronto, 3-2, in exhibition play Saturday night at Appleton Arena. Men’s Soccer: Senior Ryan Campbell and junior Eric Edmonds both scored to lead the Saints to a 2-1 road win at RPI on Saturday in Troy, N.Y. St. Lawrence improved to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in Liberty League play. Women’s Soccer: Senior Meredith Donahue scored the game’s only goal, while sophomore Reagan Murphy posted a shutout in net as St. Lawrence earned a 1-0 Senior Day win over RPI. The victory moved the Saints into fifth place in the Liberty League standings as they chase a playoff spot. Men’s Rowing: The Novice 8 crew earned a first-place finish at the Head of the Fish on Saturday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. They finished in 11:55.835, beating boats from UMass, Rhode Island, Middlebury, and Boston College. Women’s Rowing: The Varsity 8 led the Saints at the Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs on Saturday, recording the top women’s finish of the day. They placed 13th overall with a time of 13:01.579. Wenger '24 Shatters Swim Record; Winter Sports ContinueMaggie Wenger ’24 broke a 1978 St. Lawrence program record when she won the 200-yard freestyle (1:55.92) during the six-team Don Richards Swimming and Diving Invitational at RIT on Saturday. Over the weekend, Men’s Squash swept Colgate, Hamilton, and Wesleyan 9-0 while Women’s Squash defeated Colgate 8-1 and Hamilton 6-3. Men’s Hockey defeated Colgate 4-3 at Appleton Arena while Women's Track and Field opened their season by taking home the team title at the Holiday Relays and Men's Track and Field secured five event wins at the five-team meet. After defeating Union 62-58 in their conference opener, Women’s Basketball defeated Skidmore 73-62 while Men’s Basketball edged Skidmore 58-57 in a close Liberty League contest. |
Members of our campus community joined together for a traditional social dance celebration on campus last Wednesday night.
