Join the Wellness Education office and Counseling Center for our third annual World Mental Health Day celebration!
Mental Health Awareness Ribbons- Be sure to pick up a green ribbon to wear on Thursday, October 10 to help destigmatize seeking support for mental health. Ribbons will be available from CAs and in numerous baskets around campus, including at the Student Center Info Desk, Fitness Center desk, and Dana checker station. Ribbon recycling stations will be available on Friday, 10/11 in the Student Center and in Dana Dining Hall.
Counseling Center Open House, 3-5 p.m.- Stop by the Diana B. Torrey Health and Counseling Center to pet the doggy de-stress dogs, meet the health and counseling teams, and enjoy gourmet cheese, pumpkin cake (vegan and gluten-free), and apple cider. The first fifty guests to attend will get a complimentary gift bag!
Letters to Burn, 4:30 p.m.- Join The Advocates at the fire pit by Kirk Douglas in a World Mental Health Day and Purple Week collaboration. Write a letter to yourself, or to someone who has harmed you, then burn the letter.
Make Your Own Stress Toy, 4:30-6:30 p.m.- Join Peer Health Network in the Student Center Monaco Room to relax and make a stress ball. Stop in any time! (Allergy warning: latex balloons will be used for this activity.)
Ups and Downs: A Film about navigating the mountains and mental health, 5:30 p.m.- Join the Outdoor Program in the Student Center Winston Room for a special film screening in recognition of World Mental Health Day.
Peer Wellness Tutor Meet & Greet, 6-9 p.m.- Stop by the third floor of Sullivan Student Center to meet the peer wellness tutors, a new peer wellness support program on campus. The tutors will be set up by the Buckley and Hannon rooms giving away free bookmarks, stickers, fidget spinners, and other goodies (while supplies last).
World Mental Health Day Cake- Make Dana your dinner destination to enjoy a slice of a special World Mental Health Day cake!
Mental Health Moment Signage- You may notice some sandwich board signs around campus with gentle reminders to take care of your mental health. When you see a sign, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on what actions you will take for your mental health today.
