Alternative Break Trips

Each academic year, we send approximately 30 students on two-three different alternative break trips. For a week in January and a week in March students will work together to help others by serving a warm meal to individuals in need or helping to build a home for a deserving family.  Below is a little bit more information about some sites we have served in the part:

A. Habitat for Humanity, http://www.habitat.org/youthprograms/collegiate-challenge Affordable Housing Location: Exmore, VA

B. St Francis Inn, http://stfrancisinn.org/ Focus on Hunger and Homelessness Location: Philadelphia, PA

Applications for all trips come out in late October or early November. Questions? Feel free to contact Ashlee Downing-Duke  at adowning@stlawu.edu

As a student who would be representing St. Lawrence University in the community and traveling to do community service, I agree to abide by all St. Lawrence University policies and to represent the university in a positive manner. I also, authorize SLU Volunteer Services staff to verify that I am in good academic and social standard here at St. Lawrence University.- All students will be asked to sign an agreement that states this.
