St. Lawrence University has announced the launch of a new Bachelor of Science degree in cybersecurity, a technically rigorous and interdisciplinary program developed to meet the fast-growing demand for cybersecurity professionals who are well-rounded problem-solvers ready to tackle complex cyber threats with both deep technical expertise and ethical reasoning.

Before they don their caps and gowns for Commencement on Sunday, May 18, members of St. Lawrence University’s Class of 2025 are taking a moment to reflect on the classes, mentors, and moments that shaped their time on campus. From NCAA tournament appearances and mountain summits to honors research and advocacy across continents, these seniors have pursued their passions with purpose.
Associate Professor of Computer Science Lisa Torrey combines her love of problem-solving and creativity to make computer science accessible, engaging, and exciting for all students. Her courses inspire intellectual curiosity and civic responsibility in order to equip students with the skills to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Professors Dan Look and Daniel Condon of the Math, Computer Science, and Statistic Department accompanied twenty-two students to the 25th annual Hudson River Undergraduate Math Conference at Union College, where Jenny Krueger '25 and Jason Stasio '25 presented their SYE research.
St. Lawrence's Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics held its 13th Pi-athlon to celebrate Pi Day. Held at Peterson Quantitative Resource Center in Valentine Hall, students partook in various events including Sudoku, mathematically themed video games, puzzle making, etc.

Eliza's presentation featured research she completed with Dr. Gabriel Dorfsman-Hopkins: "Exploring Mandelbrot Escape Velocity," where she created 3D prints depicting how quickly points pass outside the Mandlebrot set move towards infinity.
With decades of experience as a software engineer, a passion for hands-on learning, and a penchant for diving deep into the zeros and ones of computing, Charles A. Dana Professor of Computer Science Ed Harcourt brings the digital world to life for St. Lawrence University students.
