SAFE Space

Located in Richardson 002/003, the SAFE Space is available for any member of the SLU Community to utilize and access resources. The space is staffed throughout the week with student, staff, and faculty allies. For access, a key is available at the Student Center Information Desk.

Advocates

The Advocates Program is an inclusive campus-wide student effort aimed at education, outreach, community coordination, prevention, and advocacy about sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. The program is dedicated to creating safe spaces in St. Lawrence University and the surrounding communities for survivors of all genders, sexual orientations, classes, races, and religions.

Chaplain’s Office

In keeping with the Universalist values that underpin St. Lawrence University, the Chaplain's Office is committed to working for the full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQIA) in faith communities and in the society at large. The Chaplain’s Office seeks to provide support, education, and advocacy for LGBTQIA people and their families and friends.

First-Year Program

The First-Year Program helps students make a successful transition from high school to college, both academically and socially. Students in their first semester at St. Lawrence University enroll in a combined academic and residential program. This interdisciplinary course helps students develop the writing, speaking, and research skills that they need during college.

Health and Counseling Services

The Health Center is an ambulatory care center staffed by nurse practitioners, nurses and a part-time college physician. Services are available to all registered students. Available services include primary care, acute care for illness and injury, immunizations, men's and women's health, and STD/STI and HIV testing. There is also a Self-Care Center located in the Health Center lounge that offers free items such as internal and external condoms, dental dams, over-the-counter medications, and health information. Counseling Services provides individual counseling, support groups, small group workshops, and a resource library.

Residence Life

The mission of the Office of Residence Life is to foster a community living environment which promotes the pursuit of academic excellence, personal growth, and integrity. By living on campus during their undergraduate education, students, together with the support of the Residence Life staff, learn to become engaged and responsible citizens. Residence Life provides options for gender-neutral housing and special housing accommodations.

Safety & Security

The Safety and Security Department is located at the Dianna B. Torrey '82 Health and Counseling Center on the ground floor. The office is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. In an emergency you can call the Safety and Security office by dialing 315-229-5555. You may also use any of the 17 emergency "blue light phones" or the 32 emergency "yellow phones" located on walkways and building exteriors.

Student Activities & Leadership

The Student Activities and Leadership Office is here to serve as a resource for all student organizations, clubs, and student leaders on campus. The office is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. Please do not hesitate to visit the Student Activities and Leadership Office with any questions.
